Your are right , the Sabah snake grass is not at all bitter .....nutty sweet taste very pleasant .
This Sabah snake leave is quite well known . One Dato paid Rm1000 for a cluster from China as remedy for his diabetes problems. What a sucker. Heard that it help to detox diabetic patient , eventually reduce frequency for dialysis. The side effect is "hon" in cantonese tend to induce cough if body is weak .( durian is a quick fix) my friend has been eating 2 freshly picked leaves once every two days ...seem to work for him ( after 2 months) His toxicity has a 50% reduction .
This is also known to keep cancer cell in check .

A bilingual e-book (CN-EN) has been published on the Sabah Snake Grass subject with background information, testimonials, newspaper clippings and reference websites.

I have planted quite a lot in my backyard but the demand from friends n relatives are too high. Recently found a lady, Angela selling fresh leaves, tea and powder. You may get her at 010 515 3186. Been supplying me constantly since I have quite a number of customers facing health problems.

Just to name a few, it helps diabetic and dialysis patient, reduce cholesterol and uric acid and most importantly, the grass is highly anti oxidant and anti inflammatory which I believe is good for cancer patients.

I'm also taking tea for general health keeping.

Anyone want to plant this, let me know. And if anyone want the leaves for their own consumption, please let me know too, so that whenever I trim the plants, I can alert them to come collect the leaves. Only those from usj.com please. I dont want outsiders who may abuse my offer to satisfy their greed.

Jan Tomaski, are the saplings you took growing?

    Hi Pat,
I would like some cuttings if still available. I can collect from you anytime you're going to the Book Exchange, and the next one is this coming Sunday. Thanks.

i dont wan to rain on anyone's parade here.....but just wish to share some info and a rather sad story here. My uncle has lymphoma which is known to be no cure cancer. So, he instead of the conventional western medicine, he opted for this snake grass option. He took over 100 leaves per day (blended with fruit juice). But his condition didnt improve and when he finally went for "chemo", his doctor ( a cancer specialist ) told him that several of his patients died from cancer because they relied too much on the snake grass. So, my uncle stopped taking the snake grass and continued with the western treatment. And he actually felt better .... it is good to try several types of medicine ... but never rely 100% on anything...

If the person has a good fighting chance then by all means try whatever he/she can afford to.Sometimes it is not a matter of curing, like my late father. When doc says chemo can prolong the life of a person in his 70s by 3 - 6 months, we rather have the snake grass to alleviate the symptoms and make him comfortable since chemo may just kill him immediately like the instance of a friend's father, who was in fact younger by a few years. Hard as it is, I'd rather let the person go than to see them suffer with the harsh treatment.
