With our 1malaysian portals easy targets of attacks, this one comes as no surprise.

Why waste time to attack useless Govt portals ? Go and attack the KLSE trading, KWSP, LHDN, MAS, AIRASIA, JPJ, PDRM, Maybank2u, CIMB .... want to attack , go and bring down the nation's Internet transactions to make your statement - what for attacking websites that 90% of Malaysians also don't know, never heard of nor cared about ....

I DON'T support the hacking but IF you want to hack, hack properly and effectively .... Show the BN Govt what a bunch of clowns that they are ....

It is also good for us users to know HOW SECURE/INSECURE THESE WEBSITES ARE !!! A REAL WORLD STRESS TEST !!! - ok, a bit extreme but honestly, if these websites can survive such cyberattacks then I feel more "safe" to use them !! Right now, I am holding out against any Internet transactions on Msian websites ....

I have heard too many inside stories to scare the shit out of me ....

Eh...RM 1.8 million could have been better utilized by developing countermeasures against these attacks, right? Oops - too late - money already spent

    Currymee,

GO EASY on the comments - you don't want the BN Govt to think you are in cahoots with ANonymous Hackers group .... esp giving them ideas of REAL "IMPACT" TARGETS !!!

Seriosuly, if they bring down just Maybank2u - all hell will break loose with the Internet in Malaysia - public confidence will be wiped-out over-night !!!!

What happened is like cyberwarfare, more like a tit-for-tat.

Commercial sites were not their target in this recent attempt, limited to only 1malaysia gov sites, to disrupt and to inconvenience them for removing the file-sharing sites which was viewed as an attempt to 'censor' the internet.

These postings may give you an insight into the reasons for the cyber attack.
Perhaps, blocking websites cud be regarded as a form of warfare...

For this, malaysia is on the world map again. PC mag carries this article.
