- it is at KEDAI KOPI HAI-PENG, Bandar Chukai, Terengganu (near Cherating) - kopi fantastic, Hainanese style toast bread lagi BEST and even the simple nasi lemak .... I ate like a pig there for 2 days

and paid half of what I will pay here in SJ/USJ and for poorer fare ....

That coffeshop, plus seafood dinner at night in Chukai and the great beach will have me making a bee-line to Cherating at every holiday opportunityPROVIDED LYNAS has not started to contaminate the whole East Coast

One the same road - JALAN SULAIMAN (the main road, now one way street) ... one end near the STORE shopping centre is the Hai-Peng, the other end of the smae road - is where you find 4 restaurants serving the famous Chukai BAKED STUFF CRAB - the popular one (thanks to Lonely Planet promo) is called Restoran Tong Juan (ok only IMHO, bit disappointed as the food seems to be mass-produced like a wedding dinner feeling/taste (too many people liow !!)Originally Posted by Hopefull
but jam packed with crowd) but I found the one next to it - Restoran Malaysia a lot lot better - less "mass produced" and taste better including the CHILLI PRAWNS and O-Chien - fuyoh
