Radio transmission tower all over USJ2 by Maxis

Just received a note that maxis together with USJ2 resident association has identified 5 suitable location plus another possible 3 to erect radio transmission tower all over USJ2 for their wireless radio frequency broadband.

In order to justify erecting these radio transmission tower lamp post , Maxis would be installing and operating the security camera to monitor the area . All these cost would be born by Maxis if the resident give a yes in the 6th March meeting.

Would you give a yes for Maxis to erect stealthy Radio transmission tower for broadband services disguised as aesthetic lamp post with security cameras operated /monitored by Maxis...all over USJ2 and maybe whole USJ later.. while we have a wired choice of fiber optic from TM right now ..?

Do USJ2 residents agree to be drown under more intense radio waves from these radio transmission towers all over...?

Would the USJ2 resident association come to their senses of what are the dangers posed by these radio transmission tower right in their ....oh no..it should be right in their compound now.....and do the necessary instead of trading it for some free security surveillance camera ...??

Hmmm....Corporate social responsibility mentioned here by Maxis...
    Really...?

    Firstly, I'm not a USJ 2 Gated-community subscriber.
The flyer specifically mentioned : Maxis Cellular 3G, which falls under the category : Communication, and not Radio X'mission as stated above.
With CCTV cameras, Maxis are assisting residential community to combat crimes which is a Win-win situation.

On one hand, USJ 2 subscribers are complaining of poor reception, but on the other they don't want to co-operate. What health-hazard are we complaining about? Is there concrete proof that radio-wave emitted from communication pole / tower are dangerous to human?

Whatever your thoughts, the residents are invited for a meeting with Maxis on Sunday, 6 Mac 2011 @ SM Seafield, USJ 2.

    .
Whether it is term by any other word....it's basic medium used is still Radio frequency waves and it is what was referred to here .

It looks like these telco is using all sorts of ways to convince / fool residents into giving them the rights to build the radio ....ok..radio communication towers...

The strange thing here in USJ2 is that the Resident association is involved and what is the role played by the RA in this case.
Can they give the Maxis the right to erect these tower/lamp post all over...?
Would that not going to happen to other areas of USJ later..?

Good! I think it is a good idea to have this surveillance cameras coverage project in the locality. It promotes:-

    1. Awareness of happenings around the locality. One can make informed decisions from such coverage later. The camera never lies nor sleep - only dishonest people, cockamanny procedures/mindsets retards progress for the betterment of the community.

    2. The development of technologies and thus (who knows?) helps formulate new public policies on public safety and security for the district and hence the state/nation.

    3. It provides jobs for people with aptitude/talents in the relevant fields.

    4. It offers an opportunity for the community's stakeholders to lead/guide the community out of perceived past malaise/neglect in good governance.

    5. Crap! We are constantly exposed to perceived hidden dangers all the time. Like the Cantonese saying - "if so scared, go stay in the police station!"...duh!

    Cheers!

    Two choices:

    • Live up to 75 healthy but poor Maxis transmission (1 bar on your transmission meter!!!);
    • Live up to only 70 but for the next 20 years you have the best data transmission into your Blackberry and iPad? (You get to read Hannah Yeoh's tweet even before she press "Tweet" - cool man! Or maybe even before Patrick Teoh tweet "Niam....." you also know he's gonna be cursing Chua Soi Lek again... )

Easy choice... or is it? Imagine those guys across the highway (along the road near USJ12 school - I dunno the name!) living under a full network of high-tension electric cables? That is the best example of URBAN TOWN PLANNING ala Bolehwood-style!

If you are in the meeting you would have notice that the security camera is use as a smokescreen to fool the residents into saying yes ....even the voting slip given is written as so.....so that maxis can build those transmission tower in the whole of USJ2. Nothing much is said about the transmission tower that is their main aim of getting .

If this is given...what would stop other telco , celcom , digi to add more and erect their tower thereby adding more radio electromagnetic waves power transmitted in the vicinity... more like in your backyard ?

Be forewarn that this attempt by maxis is the first in USJ and if successful would likely be expanded to the whole of USJ and other areas.

USJ residents get intimidated by CCTV filming them voting? This is such a sham lah brudder... please do not insult fellow residents here in USJ voted for telco towers because of CCTV filming them voting, c'mon lah, pls be more solid with your arguments lah...

Maxis is a pte entity and a private company, you can be intimidated by a private company? If this how you guys view and handle things, you deserve all the towers and overhead transmission lines and maybe even the nuclear power station located in USJ, just need to intimidate you with CCTV filming...

Think u misunderstood - he meant that maxis is dangling sponsored cctv security as an incentive for residents to vote yes while underplaying the real intention of radio wave transmission.

But do agree that the benefits outweight the speculative dangers.

BTW it is in my backyard.

Since you already know why they dangle the carrot...if there was no concern...why offer the olive branch to you...right...?

If I were you, object violently...tell them to piss off and that you don't want any of their money..

The sad truth in this place is that I may have over-rated your ability to do anything.. The Malaysian government do not protect you but the big business...perhaps Hannah Yeoh may help...have you tried the alternative instead of accepting this..you owe this to yourself and your kids to check this out.

Don't live in Bhopal, my friend. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhopal_disaster

When I was living overseas, the government wanted to build high voltage electricity transmission lines over the creek where children play..after 2 years of protest, they did the transmission underground (a lot costlier) but it goes to show that their original denial that high voltage current do not cost leukemia ..nobody will ever really know..not even them...but they did hope that we will accept it..lucky we did not..
