    YTL Yes Broadband

    Hi All,

    Hoping to hear from forummers who have subscribed to Yes.
    Experience positive or otherwise?

    I' using Digi at present.

    You are referring to YTL Wimax, right?
    1. YTL WIMAX is NOT a replacement for a fixed line service.
    2. 4GB usage (cheapest rates, including all rebates) will cost you RM86.01.

    Installing windows and updating all your software will cost RM50+ in bandwidth alone!

    yup, i did a little research, whilst my friend who subscribed to it gave positive review to it (super high speed and cost saving), it failed to meet my most important condition - coverage.. YTL's coverage is superbly lacking.. if you check out the coverage, only urban areas are well covered. none in East Malaysia, if i am not mistaken.. in Pen. Malaysia, rural area is deprived of its coverage, thus, causing me not to jump in the band wagon just yet

    my main reason of wireless BB is network coverage as my nature of work takes me around places.. and i need the internet...

    Looks like we'd never see cheap (broadly affordable) HS broadband for the mass. Most will be stuck with screamyx, 3g low speed wifi capped and so on. These companies are here to stay and ride on monopoly, make as much money to bleed the rakyat indefinitely. Idealy I'd like to see say Rm50/month for 5Mbt. My guess it won't happen.

    Few years back in a mgt meeting, we were talking about the chicken and the egg situation of bolehland's project implementations....

    and what if you are on the upper levels of the foodchain..???. tis no secret that you'll get complimentary iPhone 4s, complimentary Unifi 20Mbps, complimentary this and complimentary that... which in actual fact is NOT complimentary, but porobaly paid for by the subscribers or users of these overpriced services...

    They can blardi give another few dozen spectrum licenses and it won't change. There won't be any cheaper broadband for the mass. Trust me..its ALWAYS rakyat ditepikan, kaompany plofit didahulukan dan cukai dipersilakan.

    The last time questions were posed to the garmen, STOOOOOOPID answers and retorts were given.. To a plain Joe like me...it means ZILCH in a hundred different languages including expression language. They're NOT going to do anything to cheapen broadband!. To a layman like me I don't care if they're headed by Guy Fawkes conspiracy gang but I just want CHEAP, EFFICIENT, RELIABLE, HS BB!..Is that too much to ask?? I bet every subscriber wants that!..AND NO!...its NOT HAPPENING! JO hit dead end flogging a stubborn horse....that seems to me!

    There are two supposedly 4G providers in Malaysia namely YTL YES and P1 Wimax. There was some confusion earlier due to claims by networking gurus that P1 Wimax did not meet 4G standards. P1 Wimax has recently received ratification of meeting 4G standards meaning Malaysia has two 4G providers.

    all I want is CHEAP AFFORDABLE RELIABLE HSBB!... yes...too much to ask in Malaysia!
    Its seems VERY EVIDENT and APPARENT, that people have to pay higher prices for progress or an upgrade. (ESPECIALLY IN THIS CASE).

    YTL? the company that is one of the IPP? The one that tenaga has to an obscene amount of money for electricity generated even though TNB dont' need it? and you still want to subscribe to YES?
