    The Big Mouth Restaurant (USJ9)

I was driving to Alliance Bank one afternoon and saw a newly opened restaurant named The Big Mouth. Initially was quite reluctant to go in as the appearance of the shop was not too catchy. Nevertheless, I just wish to have a place to hang out while waiting for my wife to finish her facial course. To my surprise, they serve good food and beverage. I tried their chicken chops and pastry. I could say this is the place that I could highly recommend all to have a try. Pricing wise is also reasonable and the price in the menu are all nett priced.

The concept is more alike Secret Receipe where they sell pastry and western food but the quality wise is so much better. I managed to speak to the staff there and was told that the team is from an international reputable 5-star hotel...

Looks like USJ has another great place to hang out for meals and tea break now...

International reputable 5 stars hotel promoting Chicken Chop?
    .
Me no big mouth, but sure Mean Mouth Enough to be "promoting" simple fried rice or chicken curry as recomended by the usj forumers. And me, never from 5 stars hotels but had been serving Hollywood celebrities like the mean Kick Ass and Wise Crack Bruce Willis of Die Hard or Die Harder

Haaaaa...good one...anyhow never thought of the restaurant's name has the literal means...

Again I just recommended what I think it's good and worth to be shared...no other intention and let you all comment it once you have tried it.

Glad to hear you can take the pun-ches in line.
Normally, I would not wanna to comment on fellow cateresr, but how to resist the tempation of a new forumer recommending with a restaurant name of BIG MOUTH with 5 stars, too?
You are lucky because even when I started which is promoting healthy meals with no MSG, I get hammered left and right. Nearly TKO but I was a mean fighter. I took it all and uptodate it has 23k hits as most of the info was not to self promote the Zinglicious restaurant but on healthy issues from MSG or aspartamate.
Or maybe you aint so lucky because you implied you dont own the restaurant but just wanna to share the recommendation and the jabs came even from a mild mannered forumer and in real person like clfoo.
And believe me, some of the forumers are even meaner than the mean olde Chef like me but they are out biking, out camping or out for a drink.

Why must some forum members go through other people's postings with a fine-toothed comb and treat it with sarcasm and cynicism?? If a poster wish to recommend a food place even if it belongs to him, I think it is ok. I have always welcomed someone recommending a new makan place. If the food is nice and value for money, I'll not hesitate to recommend to other friends too. If it is otherwise, that place will be on my 'banned list' and with my bad-mouthing that place usually will not last very long. So, self advertisement is a 2-edged sword.

If I may answered it as a forumer rather than old mean chef. I think most of the forumers would prefer forumers tell about the good food to be shared either he owns it or not. If he is the owner, even better because he would be able to answer directly face to face ( in the forum ) if there is any complaints or enquiries.
If the forumer owns it, just tell it upfornt and he is getting respects out of integrity at face value first rather than on pretentious nicks and cooked up some stories.
Otherwise, there would be a swarm of fliers spamming the Cari Makan or even the main Forum to solicit business on false pretext. And this worries the moderators from Chang to Franky.
Even the mean old chef was asked to promote the menu as sometimes the forumers get confused how to describe the menu or lazy to write about it. Tupai the chefmonk even would ask for adver payment when I told him I prefer him to post rather than me.
Believe it or not, there is no better person to tell about it if y6ou have 5 inches Portobello Mushrooms to USD sized Scallop. to Volvo Gear box to Lamb Good Teh.
Still, honesty is still the best policy for those who wanna to stay long and be respected without artificial flavoring or sweetener.

Was there last nite and again tonite. Not bad for most of the items so far. Their fish & chips was a let down though as the batter was too thick. But their seafood chowder and pizza was good. A friend said their burger was nice too. May pop in again tomorrow to try other items.
We also tried their tiramisu cake...nice.

Buddy of mine said the chicken chop, tiramisu cake and coffee all came off very well for his lunch yesterday. I guess this place must be worth a try...

Oh btw, prices are very reasonable. 7" pizza is only about rm7. Seafood chowder (our favourite is only about RM6+ !) And I like the attitude of this place. They dont charge for plain water. Service excellent. Last nite my friend order Oglio Sphagetti and instead came carbonara. We ate a bit and then realise it wasnt what we ordered. Clarified with the boss John and immediately he replaced with a new order of Oglio - very magnanimous and no question asked ! Their molten choc for dessert is also a must try item.

Oh by the way, cakes all go for RM3 after 8pm!! Bon appetit!

Since all feedback postive, I might give it a try this weekend when I am back in USJ. Its been very difficult to find a good joint for good food in USJ/SJ which offers good value for money. Seems like Happy Mansion Sect 17 PJ offers more such good food joints at reasonable pricing than the entire USJ/SJ combined, sad.
