In malaysia the glcs will only take the recycled politicians, those who have lost but have angkated many people in the past, they will be rewarded with a board post.

Of course TSHM is not patriotic. He's never in the army. Anyone not in the army is not patriotic. Remember what our Defence Minister said?

I too m not patriotic cos I was never in the army. I no like guns and cannons and stuff related to guns, cannons and bombs.

It shows how fast Singapore will grab our unappreciated talents.

Tan Sri Hassan Merican is not the only Malay top gun being appreciated in the Little Red Dot City... there are many in Neptune Orient, Temasek, SembCorp, NatSteel, Mount E Medical Centre, Stamford Medical Group and even in The Straits Times. There was a list published in one of their local blogs sometime back...

He is a chartered accountant so I suppose the most offensive weapon he has used would be his pen!!

This is an offensive comment. Totally uncalled for - I have half a mind to ban you for making such derogatory comments about someone whom you may not have even met ... This is simply character assasination

I am not a fan of Petronas. I still remembered until today the unpleasant experience during an interview for a scholarship, and I rejected Petronas Carigali offer as a Drilling Engineer when they offered me the job in my final semester. I don’t pump at Petronas retail station and do not purchase any of their petroleum products. In the early days of NS highway when Petronas stations are the only station along the highway, I went to the extreme to detour to small town like Seremban to pump petrol just to show my disguise to the company.

But as a national oil company, Petronas is among the best and likely is the best. All the state-own/national oil companies in the world are either a complete screw-up like Pertamina, or become the private ATM for individual/family (Venezuela, Russia, Middle East countries).

Their Management is professional – knowing the limited hydrocarbon reserves in Malaysia, they have ventured overseas long time ago to ensure reserve replacement ratio and stability. Their brand “Petronas” and the logo are internationally recognized as a premium brand. One good example is their management under the former CEO, Hassan Merican made a bold decision to sponsor Mercedes F1 Team, and didn’t yield to pressure to subsidize the apanama cronies to own a 3rd class F1 team.

Petronas Twin Tower and KLCC is a success especially for KLCC. You can’t find the “1st class building but 3rd class management/maintenance” mentality in KLCC.

No doubt, Petronas had been used to bail-out many GLC but despite all the big write-off, it is still the biggest tax contributor in bolehland

    -----------------------------------------------------------------

Hassan Merican is the person behind all the milestones Petronas achieved.

As a result, he “retired” and his successor is someone older than him.

BTW, speaking of Petronas, is it true that Protons run "best" or more efficiently using Petronas Primax compared to other petrol ? I got a few mechanics telling me this story but if you drive a foreign marque, go Shell, they said ...

I doubt and I think it is just individual physiological preference.

All brands sell the same fuel (same specification as compliance to MS Standard). The difference is the 1)type of additives and the 2)concentration of the additives.

Precisely, their argument is that because Proton is such an "inferior" car, any good petrol (with kar liew), say, Shell or Caltex, will cause a "drag" in performance while "normal" (read: lousy, in mechanics' parlance) is OK for Protons.

It seems the kar-liew Shell, Caltex etc is "too hor-liow" for Protons until the performance suffer ....
