    Dengue "officers" ?

Yesterday, a group of malay guys came banging in our area asking for $20 to spray dengue medicine. I think these people are con-men, so beware of them when they go to your area.

I thought MPSJ provide these services free of charge ?

    Dear Residents

We understand that in recent days, a group of Malay/Indian pest control operators is going around "once again" (they have done this before), claiming that they are authorised by the government departments to do anti-dengue insecticide application (chemical spraying or fogging).

Whilst we will not go as far as claiming that these guys are CON-MEN, they are definitely OPPORTUNISTS.

We understand that they charge anything from RM20.00 to RM120.00 once you have given your agreement.

Do not be taken in by these MEN with their documents and offers, etc....

We should like to remind all residents that you do not need to "pay" to have your house fogged by MPSJ, they will do it FOC when it is really required.

Preventing the breeding of mosquitoes is actually so simple. It involves keeping your home and surroundings clean and free from stagnant water.

Do your part to prevent Dengue but
don't just part with your hard earned money

The same person approached me yesterday about 5.00pm. I asked him whether they are from MPSJ. He was honest enough to tell me "NO". Then my next question was whether he will charge me for the fogging. He said "yes" and my immediate answer was "No".

I hoped those residents who have paid to this men for the fogging have paid willingly. If they proceeded to carry out the fogging & asked for payments later without your consent, You can refuse to pay them and if you encounter any problems, you may call any of the committee members.
