Late dinner at 11.00 pm at the foodcourt in Sungai Ara, Penang, on way back from Bayan Lepas Airport, the damn Firefly flights are not reliable anymore, not like the early days...

fried kampong fish, soup & long beans n rice

Fried beehoon, fried mee and fried kuey teow, one dish of veggie and steam prawns in egg white... for four people at Tsunami Village in Tanjung Bungah. After that wallop down 4 large Baked Crabs with roe... and 2 bottles of Heineken... tonight the sea breeze is nice and cooling...

Brown rice and 1 veggie and fried tenggiri fish and an "old cucumber" soup with pork ribs - wifey did the cooking. Simple for two old folks.

Had dinner at home - brown rice with ladies finger sambal style, steamed cod fish, steamed minced pork in egg white and salted fish... yummy!

Tried the "new" Japanese restaurant - YAMADA on SS15/5A - same row as Rakuzen, Jyu Raku, Tomoe, Ryu Men Tei and Hyotan - a really japanese makan row !!

Conclusion:

1) Food is great - better than Rakuzen (my benchmark)

(Rakuzen is starting to become too-franchised as more Super-Dining outlets are opened but so far quality at SS15 branch is still good - but matter of time, before we shift to others along the row .... )

2) Portion is bigger
3) .... so price is also bigger (around 5-10%) more ....

Overall: Another good Japanese restaurant to give my wife and I a "HAPPY" selection headache

Dinner was thosai telur bawang and prawn masalla and a teh halia kurang manis in a restaurant in Georgetown's Chulia Street (lots of backpackers till hanging around - thought the holidays are over by now, no?)

Roti prata and mutton curry.... long time never eat, nice... and teh halia kurang manis... at Indian restaurant next to Chowrasta market along Penang Road... came by to visit some friends from the Hare Khrisna group.....

last christmas home trip, makan twice at Jyn Raku, their sashimi is good.
i love the cut and the fresh fish used.
