Please be advised that we will be shutting down the Forum after midnight on some nights to facilitate maintenance work on the Forum server.

This will be the only announcement as we may not announce any future shutdowns - just be aware that if you cannot login after midnight, you may assume that maintenance work is underway. we will check the activity on the Forum before we shut it down ... hence we do it during the slower nights when you flers are asleep.

The shut downs will not be long, as we need to sleep too . For the night birds and insomniacs, we should reopen the server by 2am if it was shutdown earlier.

Maintenance work is required to tackle the huge database we have built up through the years. We have now amassed something like more than 34,000 inactive members. A lot of them are actually spammers who tried to register with our Forum using robots and because of that they are stuck in limbo in our database. We need to clear them off
