    Dog Beater

I have an issue which I need some advice on. A neighbour has a beautiful pup, I think it's a Labrador of probably a year old. This man used to whack the dog on a regular basis and regular then was practically throughout the day, from early morning of 7am till about 11pm, whenever he comes home. I called the SPCA and emailed them a few times, they said they would pay a visit. I'm not sure if they did but the beatings got slightly less. Nowadays he still whacks and it's painful just to hear the dog yelp because I can hear the sound of the beating from my kitchen even. Once I heard strange yelps of pain and I ran to my window to see what happened and this owner was holding the dog,s head under his armpit with one hand while the other was hitting it repeatedly. I think he knew I saw because he turned his head to the direction of my window and stared. He's an unpleasant neighbour who doesn't even greet others from day one that he moved in and so i don't dare to talk to him about the beatings but it really is quite upsetting to see the animal suffer. It has never been taken for a walk and is almost constantly chained to the side wall of the house. One afternoon, it must have upset the owner and I happened to be standing outside the house. I saw the owner hit the dog again and again, the dog was yelping loudly, he walked away from the dog then went back, hit repeatedly again, walked away then came back and hit again, four times, while I stood out there. I felt really useless but I have young children at home and a travelling husband, so I kind of fear retaliation. What else can be done, I dread the years the dog will live in this condition.

The last time somebody wrote about dogowners letting their dogs poo at USJ4 playground and not scooping up the poo, I suggested the kick the dog owner instead of the dog, I got banned from this forum. So, refrain lah from any comments... but USJ forumers are smarto enuff to know what I am trying to suggest without actually suggesting....

The only solution is for SPCA to hire a lawyer and says that the owner is not fit to own the dog and let SPCA adopt the dog or find another more suitable owner.

It would be better if you can videotape the cruel beating by SECRETLY videotaping it. Then it can brought up as evidence in court.

There will be bad Karma for the owner in the future. Action and reaction are equal and opposite.

What's the point of having a pet if you're going to ill treat it? How can one respect a man who bullies the weak? Sad state of affair. I wonder if SPCA will help the poor pup.

I have a dog beater neighbor during my childhood in Melaka.

He is now a beggar in the streets as told by other neighbors.

Karma is REAL. As Chinese proverb says - "you will get what you planted"

The bad karma for a dog beater is poor health (sickly body). Because he inflicted pain on others, he will get body pain in the future.

Being a beggar is due to other bad actions like stealing.

Sorry, I thought Karma had to do with your actions in your "Past" Life?

If you dare not take any actions, please give us the address of the house so we can do something about it. Quick..quick...the dog is suffering..and may die too.

Karma comes from either past or present life, not necessary the past.

Eg. if you kill someone in this life, will you escape being hanged when caught by police and found guilty ?

Do you have the right to "do something" about it? Don't you need some legal counsel first?

You've certainly made the concept of karma very confusing to me..

Venuspop, we don't need legal advise if we just wanna confront this guy face to face and tell him off. Not thinking of burning his car or beating him up...don't worry la.

Let's say he confessed to beating up his pet. What can you do? You can't remove the poor pup, can you? What should one do under such circumstances?

I've already suggested, videotape him secretly.

With the video as proof, you can bring to SPCA and any political person such as Michael Chong who may give the dog a new home.
