    UNIFI problem

About 2 to 3 months back telekom contacted me to say that i will be the first few to experience the 20Mbps connection.

I signed up straight away since i had loads of problems with streamyx.

I was very impressed with the speed and the excellent connection then.

Recently I got a call to say that the free time is over and i had to choose a package. I gladly signed on for a term of 1 year. Soon after the connection sunk to the frightening depths of the streamyx era. It has been been totally useless. Intermittent connection and reports were made and no action. It has been a week and nobody has been to repair. Sent out emails to them and no action.

I feel TM gives you best service during the trial. Lots of calls to check on the service but soon after I signed up and locked in for 1 year everything fell apart. I have very bad connection 0.6Mbps and thats been the case ever since. I am using a digi connection to get onto the internet now.

if there is a problem with the connection, i dont mind since it can be rectified with all the advanced equipment.

what i am really cheesed off is with the attitude of the staff, there seems like there is no urgency to sort matters out. Funny thing is that they were very efficient during the free trial.

is this a trap? others beware!!!maybe there is a lesson in this...

This is odd...I'm getting weird Speedtest results

I've been checking my UniFi off and on with Speedtest.net and have always got consistent results with my package [5Mbps]

Now this is what I just got

And to the London Server [this is also not consistent with my previous readings]

Something happening at Unifi or with Speedtest.

My simple test is with Youtube....With Streamyx I need to Pause and Buffer...with Unifi don't need too....Youtube playing now all Fine

Can anyone tell me why I'm getting this reading? Usage wise, I see no appreciable difference

Kuma, maybe you are stealing BMW's bandwidth?! just Kiddin

Have you signed up or still on trial period?

As for BMW, I would say, write a nasty email to all TM heads on how incompetent they are, you will get a lightning phone call from their manager. With Unifi, is it a guaranteed service or best effort like streamyx?

I was never on the Trial...I signed up in late April.

    Today's reading>

It's getting better by the hour

I think something is wrong on UniFi side...when Speedtest does the test...the meter seems to go wonky, then I get this result.

I'm contemplating to switch from my present streamyx to unifi. Welcome comments and feedback from present unifi users. I was told that if I switch to unifi I can't keep my present phone number. Kindly verify. Thank you.

yes you can keep the current number, and you will be given an unifi new tel no ( in USJ 9 shd be +603 8011 XXXX ) then you can decide to keep both or terminate the current one is up to you, of course call from unifi to any TM landline in whole msia is FOC.

    UPDATE:

after many weeks of continuous reports, they have come in and changed my router for the 3rd time...

    everything works fine now.

the orange and white TM router used for the UNIFI is of extremely low quality..this item has given me a lot of problems. I suggest that we use a better quality router and do the settings yourself...suprisingly the modem has performed well so far...

    Regards

You mean we can buy from else where a better quality router? Is it difficult for a non-IT guy to do the setting?

Security issues with the UNIFI router?

    http://www.malaysia-today.net/mtcolu...securing-unifi

Went to TMpoint branch in Taipan to apply new line and streamyx for office at Empire Subang but was told that have to be on waiting list coz no port or something...

Was asked to apply for UNIFI instead which application can be processed immediately.

    Anyone faces similar situation?
