Don't Swim Too Fast Now Darling.....

I doubt anyone would want to have their little loved ones swimming in this infinity pool built 55-storeys above the ground... so you won't hear the mommies and daddies saying "don't swim too fast now, darling"...

This is the new infinity-type swimming pool, three times the length of an Olympic-size swimming pool, built on the top of the new Sands Casino in Marina Bay, Singapore.

The water doesn't overflow down all the way to the ground, they actually recycle the water back into the pool one floor below the pool. You must be not afraid of the height to be dipping in the pool at the edge and look down onto the road...

And while you are at the edge of the pool, make sure no overweight king-size fella jump into the pool hard cost if he does, you will properly be pushed out at the edge and 55-storeys skydive down...

The pool was officially opened yesterday, 4th of July.

p.s. and the fat lady in cheong-sam still struggling to build arches in the botanical garden to attract tourists, did you say???

There is a darker-skinned version of Dennis the Menace living next door to us, complete with the same curly hair. Just because his mum can cook chapati and idili and mutton curry and pass over to us once a while, this little "Dennis" thinks it is alright to throw his sweet wrappers and Cornetto wrappers over the fence too. And shoot rubber band at our cats resting at the patio too. Maybe I should buy him a ticket and send him to swim in this pool, since he likes swimming....

Isn't there any safety net or other safety feature to prevent that from happening..the 55-storey drop?

Yes, to prevent other swimmers being "floated out", fat people cannot jump into the pool, they have to go in slowly.... (just a joke, no offence meant for those in the extra-large size category...)

Also swimmers cannot do the Butterfly Stroke in case they fly out at the end of the pool... and downn 55 storeys...

Have you been to the Mandarin Oriental at KLCC? They have their pool quite similar, on the rooftop where the water apparently go to the edge of the building ... but it is just an optical illusion - there is a wide ledge where the water flows off the side into another catchment ledge. Look closely at the 2nd picture and at the far side where the building bends to the left, you see the double ledge? How to fall off the pool and drop 55 stories?

Do you think that the Singaporean will allow a pool with a 55 storey drop??
If you drop that far you will be dead before hitting the deck.

I don't even think I want to drop onto that standby ledge Chang. I will probably swim to the edge if they allow me to wear a parachute into the pool.

All I know is that if you swim at that HEIGHT, and you don't cover up immediately after getting out of the pool - you are asking to catch a cold !!!

When I swim in the pool of my “crampy pigeon hole building” (this is an official term used for high-rise residential building as pointed out by a squirrel) which is only located at the 4th floor, about 40-45ft from ground level, the wind is sometimes unbearable (unless you are in the water all the time).

Sometimes, when the wind is really strong (which is quite often as the pool is an “infinity” pool located in between two towers), some of the palm trees bend almost 90 degree due to the sheer wind force.

I just cannot imagine people can stand above 55 storeys and dip into a pool… The wind will BLOW YOU AWAY !!!!

Ps. Sentinel, I have to disagree with you…I strongly think the pool is only for those fella with substantial weight and with high inertia, otherwise…..!!!
