Is MAS an AIR ASIA in disguise?

I am curious. Is MAS, Malaysia's Five Star Value Carrier emulating in the footsteps of Air Asia?

Costs are down, fares are down, freebies (the all inclusive such as food and drinks) are lower standard - will this impact the service level to the customer?

Will it come to a point that Air Asia's services outstrip that of MAS?

Yes, flights are being canceled and merged. Flight delays are getting more common. Ground staff don't know what is happening. If book early, can get fares as cheap as Air Asia, sometimes even cheaper.

Pure Research & Duplicate. Providing services like Air Asia is selling like hot cakes, MAS just duplicate the same model.

No wonder the quality of their food has become 'inedible' ie. non tasty when compared to 20 years ago.

they brand themselves as the low-fare 5 star airline.

    Well, you cannot have both.

years and years of interference by well-connected people is what drove MAS into bankruptcy - I have heard so many stories about empty special flights and cannot help but laugh at the idea of a direct KL-Manchester flight

The airline industry has consolidated and moved to a lower-cost model. Airlines are cutting costs, cutting routes, merging, and reducing service levels.

But at least most airlines do not end up paying RM35 to produce 1 'plate' of economy-class Nasi Lemak.
