    OLD TOWN WHITE COFFEE (Taipan)

My family went for breakfast at the place above on 20/3/2010. We were the first customer to arrive. We order one dry curry mee and toast. In the end we waited for more than half an hour the mee never came. The others customer food arrive. We spoke to three waiter and they never act on it. Frustrated we left and complain to the cashier who charge us for the mee that we never eat. After we scold them only he say sorry and give us the correct bill.

I wanted to complain to the manager of the place but not even one malaysian is there. All is .....i dont know who they are but no malaysian. Anyway i have been calling them to seek clarification but no one answer the phone. What sorts of restaurant is this???

The website is currently under maintenance so too bad no other channels unless you send it to the press.

The first otwc in SJ/USJ is at ss15, service is good. (I am very critical in service level)

The owner opened another one at Subang Avenue (next to carefour) few months ago, service is also good as he deployed some of the staff from the ss15 branch. But, there is only one washroom and it is located at 2nd floor.

Agreed! Service at the Taipan outlet is atrocious! Ordered cham but got milk tea. Ordered 1 bowl of Ipoh Hor Fun but came 2 bowls instead. And I think the drinks standard also jatuh already...

I do not understand why people goes to these franchised shops to dine. All they served is fushion food and you are paying for ambience and so call cleaniness and service. We are all knowledgeable about malaysian delicacies and the best are all featured in 'cari makan" .

Now , you will notice that " fish head meehoon or noodles " is the last crap in town. It is such a simple dish and yet we pay from Rm6.00 to Rm8.00 to savour the dish.

Prehaps we are to lazy to cook or do not know how to cook. If you go to zinlglicious's outlet . at least they have some of their original menu . To eat toasted bread with butter and kopi in a shop is the most stupidous thing.

If you go to a five star hotel , at least that is ambience and mind you the price are nearly the same.

    I go there because:

It is less crowded compare to the normal coffee shop, relatively speaking.

It is air-conditioned and with good fan ventilation. As I am wearing office attire, under the hot and humid weather, I donít want to go to office with sweat and body odor.

It is cheap compare to the breakfast in my work place.

The bread and kaya toast and coffee is good, canít get from elsewhere.

All "OLD TOWN" in Klang Valley had hired foreign labour as their workers... from Cashier/Manager to the Cooks/Cleaners are all foreign worker...
as far as I had visited... at least Ipoh still have some local worker...

At least "PAPA RICH" still have some local worker as their Manager/Cashier/Cook... they employ foreign worker just as their cleaner...

seldom dine in "OLD TOWN" anymore... each time dine there sure got stuffs to complaint...

If there a choice of "PAPA RICH" and "OLD TOWN"... I will surely choose "PAPA RICH"...

    cheers...

I went to the place when they first opened. Unfortunately there was a water shortage and the place was in chaos. Food never arrived and my daughter ordered nasi lemak which cost RM8.50! Most people who go there are masochistic? Want to feel the pain of paying for food which cost less if you were to eat from a roadside stall? The ambiance won't be that bad..open air and plenty of sunshine.

honestly i go there because i like the toast and the noodles. I find them not so oily like those at restaurant. And i like the honey lemon juice. Thats the reason. But since the services is so bad we feel very frustrated. I won't want to go there again and am very sad that one of my favourite restaurant is on my delete list now.

You say something like this (I remember I did touch it too) and sure people here will retort and defend their visits to places that are pricy for coffee or a biscuit or for business or leisure. Matter of choice and willing to afford it, quite simple.
Me, just no kelas one... won't visit these places on my own for reasons best known myself.

USJ and Subang Jaya are populated with foreigners... and always remember this is Malaysia and just wondering what will happen in the next 10 years if the authorities do nothing on it. Now we really live in Malaysia and not only the Malay, Chinese and Indian, but the Bangladeshi, Myarmmar, Pakistani, Chinese, and many more. Susah mau cakap lah...

    Malaysia population = 27 million....
Registered foreign workers = 2 million....
Unregistered alien = double the reg workers = 4 million....

    Popoulation growth = foreigners....

So what do you think of 1Malaysia.....
