What is being sprayed here and why?
I'll find out... Email me the road, and if you have the date it was sprayed

Also in USJ4/1 area, from USJ4/1A - USJ4/1N - the side of grass (about 3-6 inches) near drains and houses were presumably sprayed with pesticide - looks like it for the same effects - damn effective also, can give the pesticide brand, I got some lalangs to kill ?

The areas include Jln USJ4/6A thru Jln USJ4/6G, Jln USJ4/7 and Jln USJ4/9. Looks like the whole USJ 4 area by the looks of it, after reading Currymee's thread.....

they did the same thing in SS15 a couple of months ago. All the grass turned yellow and dried up. Not sure why they did that. However, the grasses have grown back. Not sure what the long term effect is.

JKP (USJ4) and Dengue Alert Info Availability

    Cllr Rajiv,

FOr the USJ4 area (and also USJ3) - who are the officers that we can get in touch to get regular updates on DENGUE like what Mr Tupai is doing for SS17? - including house no. and street - this is important coz it is well known that aedes travel within a 60-100m radius.

You can give the contact or email of the officer in charge and I can go and bug him/her for weekly updates or you may be kind enough to do so. BTW< USJ4 is in which JKP and who are the members - cannot find info on MPSJ website or no access/privilage.

Thank you for your attention and cooperation in advance.

    Alam Flora Gabbage Collector Truck

    Rajiv,

The truck drivers are very rude and inconsiderate.
    1. they would just travel in the middle of the road in residential areas access road, and don't bother to give way to oncoming vehicles.
    2. Along USJ2/2, they travel on the WRONG side of the lane(for their convenience); oppose to vehicles traveling toward Shell Station.

Another complain, the workers often open up the black gabbage bags for recycle items and left behind the rubbish(dried leave and wet card board) and the bag by the road shoulders. Very untidy ! I don't mind they took away the alum. can or plastic bottle but they cannot leave behind the balance originally in the bag by the road side.

I suggest these drivers & workers need some proper induction course(by MPSj or Alam Flora) for them to perform their duty diligently.

Modern cats catch rodents not anymore!

There seems too many cats around USJ, my area included. They are so smart, they could open the garbage bin chutes, and then walla... all you can find them with plastic bags stewn all over the place.

Can we have MPSJ round up all these kittens?

    Halal or haram aside.
The mongrels: they chase them (cats) away, but the rodents dun get chased anymore these days, cos the cats are too lame and smart hehe
If your garbage bin has doors with horizontal latches, the cat can open the door from either side of the chute (inside or outside the house). I had been watching how my bin chutes get opened to my chargrin.

Let me clear something up ...

Halal (permissible) and haraam (prohibited) applies to things that muslims can or cannot do, eat, touch, say, etc. There is another set of guidelines that defines things as 'dirty' and 'frowned upon' (as in, not good).

Under this set of guidelines, the saliva of dogs is considered as 'dirty' (meaning that washing should be done immediately upon contact) rather than haraam. The same applies to dogs themselves.

As for cats, they are not classified as 'dirty' meaning that they can be touched without requiring immediate washing. However, it would be considered 'frowned upon' if you were to play with your cat and then pray without washing up.

The meat of cats and dogs it is not halal for muslims. However, there is nothing wrong with playing with or touching a dog or cat.

Generally Halal & Haraam & the in-between classifications are quite simple ... almost everything is halal and very little is actually haraam. Unfortunately, many muslims seem to prefer classifying everything as haraam until it is proven halaal...when it should be the other way around.

    Cheers, m

What about worms? Because any dog discussion seems to open up large cans of them.

I am also fed up with the noise, poop and general bad smell of stray cats.
Fed up with them spreading garbage and the increase in flies that comes with the strewn garbage.
