The queue phenomenon may not be due to the timing of the lights....per se. Perhaps this feedback may be useful.....
1. I think it is also due to vehicles coming out from the USJ4 petrol stations and attempting to traverse over THREE LANES in the shortest possible distance. Just to turn right to USJ Summit direction or U-turn back to USJ5 and beyond....
I kow tow to such motorists for such (brave?) skills and persistence. I empathised with them. However, perhaps they can change their routes and if possible avoid doing that during the peak hours?
Perhaps drive along the back road dividing USJ3 and USJ4 - hope I got the roads correct. And make the turn from the SMK USJ12 area.
It is tough for motorists driving straight towards Lick Hung to give way for them due to the sheer volume of vehicles/motor cyclists (especially) following behind. One slight swerve can cause a nasty accident...
One motorist may give you way, but the other motorist on the next lane may not give in. Hence you have a stalemate and a gridlock situation. It all boils down to courtesy on the road.....hard to educate people....
2. It is also due to motorists forming another queue at the most left lane - they "squeeze in" from the lane meant for vehicles to turn left to the school and USJ4. And thus block/caused traffic to slowly move bumper-to-bumper along this left lane.
I sometimes feel like getting a concrete barrier and block this turn area so that no vehicles can do the "squeeze-in" thingy...!
I hope you can visualise what I am trying to explain..
Cheers!
