Can anyone recommend a laser center or whatever to remove the dark spots, roughness of a face ?

    Criteria:

    1. Inexpensive

Our moderator Patrick has a thread in the health section regarding laser surgery or treatment. I hv been to the clinic he recommends, and i find it really good.

Check out that thread for all kinds of info.

Since i am no longer living in Msia, i recently bought some hydroquinone from Sephora for my son's dark spots leftover from his acne problem. I only allowed him to use it for a few weeks coz that stuff is rather toxic if used over a long period. It has worked fine for eliminating his dark spots which werent severe to start with but due to his fair skin, it was so apparent. Anything severe should be looked at by a doctor b4 treatment so u dont use the wrong stuff and make it worse coz it has happened b4. I saw someone who used some prescribed cream from a skin specialist but didnt follow proper instructions and ended up with more dark patches.

These days there are so many treatment options for dark spots. Some take longer than others, but if u can afford laser treatment, it is so so fast! Then load up with sunscreen. Whatever treatment you go for, all the doctors will tell you that sunscreen is a must.
Hope it works out for you soon Good luck!

P/S: If it is normal skin roughness due to buildup of dead skin cells over a long period, exfoliating regularly will help get rid of the dead layer, but always remember to use sunscreen everyday. Buy moisturizers with some amt of SPF in it. For men or women.. sunscreen (among other things) is the way to go these days to help prevent premature aging.

Cosmetic surgery is never cheap and you do not want to go to a backyard operator and end up worst.

hahaha.. Franky ah.. i went to get my spider veins lasered off. I am too chicken to do anything to my face. hehehe I just rely on Estee Lauder's cleanser/wash, toner, moisturizer w/spf and night repair serum. Itu saja i can afford.

The laser treatment for spider veins is similar to removing dark spots depending on what are the causes for the spots. No surgery needed (as in no knife). No pain, no scarring and just a couple of days of slight redness, then voila!!! All gone!!

Depending on the cause of those spots, maybe can use hydroquinone or a normal facial peel under the guidance of a professional.

The title sure is harsh for a simple thing like rough skin and dark spots. Modern medicine has come a long way. Diamond-peels can be done by a trained/certified beautician. Chemical peels/ AHA peels can done by a skin specialist. Plenty of options out there, in our pursuit for beauty.
Actually, a nice clean fresh face is most pleasing.
Do give Dr Lim Whye Leng a call for consultation and see what you think. She is a no-nonsense person. Straight out will tell you whether she can do anything or not.

ehhe.. yeah... that's how popular the thread is. You arent alone in trying to find the best/most reliable treatment out there. If u want to get more info, just send a PM to Patrick and he will tell you how to get in touch with Dr Lim. Her clinic is in Mont Kiara.

Do keep in mind that once you get your skin treated, you may want to follow up with regular facials in order to maintain it to the best. If the cost of regular facials are too much for you, then read up on some very good tips on youtube's regular beauty tutorials. There are loads to choose from and even my kids and i hv learned a lot from those videos. It's a matter of picking the right course of treatment suited to your skin.
