Noted .... in this case, I will wait for you to give us the narrative and feedback, since my Mandarin is half-past-six, and more likely I will mis-interpret and cause MORE CONFUSION instead !!

I told her and she said, "You go and then come back and write about it on the forum, sure ... someone will "correct" you ... "

She said, sorry , she will be spending the weekend coaching my son on BC Karangan, his "weakest" subject ...

Tension is building up as the exams get nearer ....

Sad News - Cikgu Fong has passed away

I got a sad email last night informing me that one of our forumers, Cikgu Fong Kim Seng passed away a few weeks ago.

The nephew who wrote the email said that he was doing a random search about his late-uncle online and found that he was active here in the forum. So, he was informing me about his uncle's demise.

His contributions esp advices are greatly appreciated. Thank you, Sir !

Cikgu Fong, rest in peace and May God Bless You !

Penulisan Exams - check-list for Std 1 parents

    1) Don't forget to tell your kids to bring pencils, erasers, rulers etc ...

    2) Tell them to make CORRECT SENTENCES first, don't worry about the length at Std 1.

    3) Remind them to double-check their answers against what was given for SPELLING errors ... this is a REAL MARK DEDUCTOR !!

    4) Tell them to try their best and think carefully when faced with "surprise" questions, just don't leave blank but try simple sentences.

    5) GOOD LUCK ... first timer

    Exam Tips from a daddy

I had a very interesting obeservation of a daddy that I know well since Std 1 (our kids not us ! ) . I saw him drop off his kids and he was giving his children a pep talk to prepare for the exam. I heard what he said to them and it was GREAT !! I told him that I am going to use the same ....

He said in Mandarin to his children:

... You have done all the necessary revision so you are ready. Remember the school teachers are always full of exam tricks, so expect some "surprise" questions ...

    Just remember to ...

    1) READ CAREFULLY
    2) THINK CAREFULLY
    3) DO CORRECTLY
    4) WRITE NEATLY
    5) FINISH QUICKLY

    COOL !!

I asked him why he said that. He said that each time he mentioned these to his kids, it gave them CONFIDENCE and ASSURANCE to try their best and face the challenge while minimising the stress, expectation and pressure.

So whenever, they face a tricky question, they just said to themesves, it is another teacher's trick and not because they did not study and they just follow the steps to try to solve it .... and try their best.
