    Currymee,

I think you better stop posting about Lick Hung and close this thread since you have been consistently breaking your own "rules" ... "This thread is not meant to be a channel for BASHING or WALLOPING the school, management or PIBG ... "

    Onewira,

Since we are now refering to my "rules" for the thread and discussion (btw, I regard them as pointers and advice rather than "rules" ) - please NOTE what I highlighted below esp regarding raising ISSUES and matters of concern to parents !!!

As for the PIBG being the official channel for discussion - I have concluded after attending 2 PIBG AGMs, it is A NON-FUNCTIONAL channel .... (note: I wrote about PIBG being the official channel BEFORE I attended any LH PIBG AGMS, after that, with GREAT SADNESS, I changed my point of view completely )

Misleading, misinformation, lack of proper communication, lack of transparency, lack of proper accountability esp when it involves funds from parents are (IMHO) matters of concern to (some) parents ....

Is it so difficult and "treasoneous" for me to request for the school management and PIBG AJK to be open, sincere and transparent in its dealings with the parents ?

School is also about imparting good moral values and exemplary conduct NOT JUST EXAM RESULTS .... school leadership comes from the school management and PIBG AJK.

or maybe I am expecting TOO MUCH from Lick Hung .... - a "supposedly" High-Performance, Cluster Cemerlang school .... maybe I should LOWER my expectation ....

On hindsight, maybe you are RIGHT, maybe I should take a BREAK from writing about Lick Hung - it is TOO DEPRESSING !!! - now, I need TWO BOWLS of currymee to perk me up ....

Go go go, Currymee! Don't whack (but with reason), no improvements. Although I don't have any kids there, I believe you're doing a favor to all the parents whose children are studying there. Keep up the good job.

Jan, why? Oh I get it. Your child has moved on to Form 1, eh?

    QS,

I don't want to whack (and I don't encourage it !) or say bad things about the school, I think it is a great school esp the class teachers , I just want to HIGHLIGHT certain aspects (eg: communication and transparency) which I think the school management and PIBG AJK can improve and do better - I rather not having to say anything which will mean they are doing the right and proper thing ....

.... if I whack, it will be crude, full of expletives and bananas flying all over the place

Allow me to digress to a different topic – student safety

I have seen van entered the school compound thru the main gate and unloaded the goods… mostly books/stationary for the school’s book shop.

I request the school to impose a rule – no vehicle for loading and unloading between 12 noon to 1pm during weekdays, and 8am to 1pm on Saturday & Sunday.

There are a lot of children walking during this time intervals – going to school for the afternoon session between 12-1pm, and co-curriculum activities on Saturday/Sunday..

Goods delivery and unloading can be done before 12 noon or after 1pm when the children traffic is very much lesser.

LH school teachers and HM, if you are reading this post, pls evaluate this suggestion and implement it for the safety of students.

    Thank You

One of the mothers that I know told me that her daughter mentioned to her that report cards for her class will be given out next term, after the school holidays.

    Totoro,

Too late notice lah, already submitted (unless there is another parent who has not done so and can help out) but you can ....

Just write a cheque for RM12.50 made payable to KUO LIANG BOOK HOUSE and write behind the cheque - your child's name, class, and add "to buy 3M magazine"

Better still, make an extra note (for their purchase record), stating the above details again and attached together with cheque for the class teacher.

I heard some of the classes have already got their report cards

My son's class still hasn't got the report card although the class teacher has already informed the children of their term (averaged over last 2 exams) class position.

So it looks like we (the parents) are not being asked to go and collect the report cards this year

This is what I meant by Lick Hung's "nuances" when I started this thread - some times got, some times don't have .... the only things that are CONSISTENT so far are the 4 EXAMS per year, the same top boy and girl coming 1st and 2nd in my son's class and a "pre-determined" PIBG AJK election and their lack of ability to communicate effectively
