What meeting is so important? Why can't wait until the exam over and have to adjust the exam time table?

This is when we need onewira to comment and clarify.

Maybe this round is for another batch of teachers ? Actually, meetings should not be held during school hours at the expense of the children's time, regardless of exams or no exams. If this is an accepted practice in the school, then I suggest that we parents are informed so that we can save the school the trouble of babysitting them and keeping them entertained with movies. I am sure there are kids and parents who would rather spend time at home doing something else.

    Make it an option.

And yes, what important meeting is it ?? Never had this before becoming high performance school.

    1. I think getting top position/marks in class should not be the only measurement of the kid’s academic performance. It is very stressful if everyone wants to get A and if many get A then the school may increase the standard of A again !!

    2. I think sometimes, it is not really a necessity to get A. For example, what is the meaning of A in BM Penulisan ? The only relevance is it may reflect a higher chance to score A in UPSR. But ask a honest question, what is the meaning of A in UPSR to the kid when he/she is in Form 5 ?

    3. A kid will progress with maturity and intelligence. No need to be too stressful during their formative years..

My son's BC Penulisan (Chowen) die again - another bad "C" ... even worse than last round ....

Time to really sit down for some serious remedial action over the school holidays .... kind of spoiled the holiday mood

Yes, and we parents cannot deny that. My boy has been complaining all questions are so challenging (he dare not use the word difficult). Even science, which has been his favourite subject is a challenge to him now. There are some subjective questions that relate to each other.
What we parents need to do is to continue giving them confidence and motivation and we cannot be the first to give up
All I can say is "Jia You".....

Right now the only thing that is keeping me hopeful is the forewarned knowledge and experience gained from SENIOR PARENTS like your goodself (thank you very much), in informing me that Lick Hung exams are "CRAZY" and not an accurate reflection of the child's capabilities !!

Let face it, to see your child's performance drop by 40% in one subject in 6 months (end of Std 2 to now) is like watching the KLSE CRASH - to go from 90+% to 50+% - seriously, my son is completely devastated and demotivated. He was in no mood to revise or even want to do the Science paper today !! I told him to do as well as possible in Science and use the opportunity to help his BC Penulisan.

BTW, I hope in future, the class teachers DO NOT RELEASE ANY RESULTS UNTIL ALL EXAMS ARE OVER PLEASE !!! My son told me that more than 10 of his classmates FAILED and many cried silently scared that they will be scolded and beaten later at home. I doubt any of them will be in the right frame of mind to do the Science exam today .....

    Bro,

Your son teacher is unbelievably fast in marking paper. Within a day, he/she get it done !!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My son’s weak spot is BM Penulisan.

It is a tough decision to me because I am the one who contributed to the problem.

I wanted him to spend less time on BM (especially BM Penulisan) and utilize the time for other subjects and activities..

I will have to think of a better approach after our holidays..

    Cheers

ps. We are going to some European mountainous medieval towns next week.. See you after school break.
