The only thing that puzzles me is WHY DID THE McDonalds (now replaced by Speedmart99) close down ? I would expect it to do a roaring business !!
Last Sunday went to Choy Kee - Tai Chow also full house and currymee auntie still full of energy taking orders.

I think the shop under MacD feng shui not so good, curving at the junction.

    fRaNkY and chookyan,

Thanks for the info on McD - just surprised that it went bust - used to be my favourite McD joint when I first moved down to SJ/USJ

Report Card Collection - NEXT TERM

I think most of you will know this by now from the kids. This post is just to reconfirm as I have spoken to a few teachers about it - ok, I spoke to one teacher and there were another 3 hanging around her

Blisters from writing too much ?

My son seems to be suffering from regular blisters and swollen fingers from writing too much - does any other child also suffer from the same problem ?

    Any solution or remedy ?

Could he be holding the pencil the wrong way? Maybe pressed too hard?

Yes, I do agree with Birdy, please check how he is holding the pencil, might just be straining a bit too much.

Silly question but is there such a thing as a proper way to hold a pencil ?

Please enlighten IF there is any figures/diagrams as an example.

Actually, on the 1st day of school, the class teacher has taught the children the right way to hold pencil

Oh! I did not know that - thanks , I will ask my son later when he gets back from school. I hope he still remembers what was taught back in Std 1 as he has been complaining of the blisters especially when there is a ton of homework !!

I resorted to using plasters as a "cushion"

Google "how to hold a pencil correctly" and there are lots of images.

I even have a guidebook...look very ancient and in chinese.
All my kids hold the pencil wrongly, even though they started correctly at Kindy. I may be wrong but somehow noticed that most Chinese school kids end up holding too close to the bottom of the pencil.

When attempt to correct the grip, they said even more tiring ! Very hard to correct...even with the book to prove them wrong.
