SJKC Lick Hung Parents' Q&A Support Group

Dear Forumers (esp parents of Lick Hung schoolchildren),

Realising that for the next 12 6 years, I will be involved with SJKC Lick Hung as a parent, I am proposing that we have a cyber support group for parents (new and veterans) on matters and issues relating to our children's school and education. I hope that this thread can serve as an informal focal point and reference; hopefully constructive and benefical to all. Sharing of information and experiences will be key to its success.

I have learned a lot and spoken to a number of parents in the last few weeks, and clearly, there are some unique features of Lick Hung that may be daunting to first-timers and puzzling to veterans as well. Hopefully by sharing and pooling our experiences and knowledge, we can also make our lives easier and less stressful

This thread is not meant to be a channel for BASHING or WALLOPING the school, management or PIBG but to share info, raise issues, Q&A and other matters of concern to us as parents, and if necessary, we will collate them to be addressed in future PIBG - the official channel for us to discuss.

Thank you for your kind attention

I support this thread and am sure it would be beneficial to, at least, new parent to the school like me.

i realised the text books given to the students are rather old and some pages are even missing...any idea where I could buy these text books ? I think I might have to replace the BC and Maths text books...

I would suggest that you exchange these two books with the SPBT... they have plenty in the office.

hahaha .... fRaNkY, my wife just gave birth recently and I realised that when his big brother finishes Std 6 and enters Form 1, the youngest will be starting Std 1, so 6+6 = 12 !!

As for issues ... personally, I don't have any , but I have heard many parents complained about this and that .... and how communication seem to be non-existent between parents and teachers.

For example, one mother looked distress today when she realised that she is not allowed in anymore to go and buy exercise books, and her Std One daughter is expected to go and buy on her own .... she kind of freaked out but we told her to just talk to the security guard around 1:30pm and asked him nicely, register herself etc etc.

    Hi Curry Mee,

*SC and *M3 should be the other way round - meaning the one with asterisk indicates it is in English. See proof below :-

Isn't your child already taking the Lick Hung "6-days a week" Std 6 UPSR after-school extra tuition ?
