U're welcome Naka
I just realized i forgot one more pic...
It was taken on the way out, after the tour was over. They also forgot to show the 'stand-in' before the 200" glass was put in.

Wow, that's one huge focusing aid! mmmm....now I'm inspired to make one for my 4" scope. My compact digital camera low res LCD's quite a hassle to focus with by eye alone. Thanks, lady.![]()
don't miss the Venus-Sun transit tomorrow. next will be in 2117!!

It's been a long 8 year wait for this....no way I'm going to miss it!
BTW did you manage to shoot last night's partial lunar eclipse?
Did about 30 minutes of frantic practising this evening after work before the fast setting sun disappeared. Oh dear, looks like I need to work on my exposure and focusing.

Am in the midst of creating closed captioning for a youtube video, while running in and out of the hse taking pics of the sun, hoping it will turn out. In the meantime there are live views online at one website http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/20...transit-venus/

I was already up at 5 am getting ready.... and watching http://sunearthday.nasa.gov/webcasts/nasaedge/ broadcast in HD! It was raining cats and dogs here in USJ.
And the sun was struggling to break through....
But even as I type, the Sun has comeout!
Hurrah! And there it is!

hhahaa.. FT, you are really superb la... waking up so early just to view it? Fantastic pic there. Wish i could take such a beautiful sun photo.
My attempts today were soooooo rushed. I had only 6hrs sleep last night, working on something i had never done before .. ie: close captioning on a youtube vid for the benefit of the hearing impaired. Anyway, I got it all done finally this evening. Then cooked , and fed the chickens , had dinner and while eating, ran out to take the last 2 pics. Just worked on them so here it is...

Wah, such a busy bee lah you!How did you manage all that, and still manage to put together that animation?
I've got some okay shots of the transit, ....and plenty of bad ones.
Will sort them out tonight...got to rush to work now.
And just for the record, the Sun is blazing nicely now. What lah, if it had been like this in the morning......![]()
As expected, Mr. Bird decided to do its own transit too.
Sorry for the big file size.....I'll remove it if it's annoying.
OMG! That is so funny... and such timing too. Mr Bird really did a nice flight path, made it most interesting. Love the way the clouds moved by too. Great capture. hahahha.
