Didn't want opulant to blow a blood vessel over it. So Cosmic Dust or Cosmic Cloud. Just to please him.

Thanks Firefly, my blood pressure is still round 125/80 which I reckon won't be blown so soon, not sure about BP of you guys.

I do believe we can see Milky Way until I read an article published by NSW University which pointed out that we are not able to take a picture of Milky Way from earth as we are inside the Milky Way. Whatever we see as "Milky Way" in the sky, it is not how the Milky Way looks like as explained in post #602

If I can use an ant and elephant to illustrate what I mean…

If the ant wanted to take a picture of the elephant, the ant must take a picture from a distance of the elephant. If the ant is crawling on the skin of elephant, whatever pictures it takes are not the pictures of the elephant. The pictures may show a very small part of the elephant skin texture, a tiny part of the ear, etc, etc but the pictures shown are DEFINiTELY NOT how an elephant should look like !!...
Btw, I am writing to someone in this area to seek his opinion. (This someone is someone who trained in this area, not a star ambassador or something like that !!... )

Firefly. .. which galaxy does your Cosmic dust image belong to? You should label it properly in case people are wondering. :P

Just in case some people find it very difficult to understand why we can't see Milky Way, here are two simple questions which might help (hopefully simple enough to these people) :

    1. Can you see the earth planet while you are standing on earth.. . ??

    2. We can see the moon from earth, why ??

What you see as Milky Way are some very very very very small portion of Milky Way.... and should not represent how Milky Way looks like..

It's like we can see the Mars, Jupiter or other planets in the solar system but we cannot see the solar system as a whole because we are inside the solar system.

Just imagine this, you have a sunny side up fried, and an ant drops on it at the fringe when it's on your plate. What do you think the ant will see if it's facing the yolk? other than your hand or spoon going in to scoop it out.

I have tolerated his opinion on the Milky Way
He was entitled to his opinion
No need to debate the view of the Milky Way

I encourage the sharing of photos of the night skies from all you star-gazers.

Season coming to an end. The earth will soon face away from the center. Quarter moon now. hopefully in about 18 days, it's still visible, then go seek it a last time.
