Yippie, it's full moon - and the sky is super clear (by USJ standards)!
This pic was taken at 2.11am...just a little past full moon (which was supposed to occur around 2.09 - 2.10 am)
If the sky holds, I'll get the "SuperMoon" in my sights...estimated to be at 3.08 am, at which time the moon is 356,575 km from USJ, Malaysia.

Here's the SuperMoon - biggest moon for the last 18 years. Not that I can actually see any diff!

Nice moon pic, FT. Of all times to get cloudy, it had to happen that night. I went out and couldnt even see any moon for a while. Then went out again and saw it behind some cloud. siighhh..

l-o-l & mick, sometimes it's my turn to get lucky.
Two challenging photo opportunities coming up, but requires a telescope...
Saturn will be in opposition (closest to Earth for this year) on 4th April. However, Saturn has been steadily moving further away from the sun since 2003. It will reach aphelion (furthest point in its orbit around the sun) in 2018. Good earthly views of Saturn are diminishing, don't waste the opportunity since some of us may unfortunately not be around when it comes closest to us again in the year 2032......
Jupiter is a different story. It was at perihelion just 4 days ago - 18th March (but we can't see it yet because it is now behind the sun). Happily, it will move into opposition on 29th October, still be relatively near perihelion, so we will get pretty nice close views of Jupiter this year! Plan on shooting from ~July onwards.
