Mick.. i wake up in the morning.. get my cuppa kopiko, wait for the the photo pages to load and then want to bang my head on the wall. 200mm and you get this kind of sharp results!!!??!?!? What on earth am i doing wrong with my moon pics? How come i cant get anything that looks close to that? Pls go make some tutorial for dummies like me and post on youtube, can ah?

Looks like one of the EOS judging from the viewfinder.....but which?

BTW, we are now right in the peak of the Perseid meteor shower. Had no luck this morning spotting any perseids although the sky was `clear overhead'. Will try again tomorrow morning. Unfortunately it's full moon this weekend, so not too ideal for spotting shooting stars. But Jupiter was great viewing and almost directly overhead at 6.00 am. Try pointing at it and doing a 30-60 secs exposure with your longest lens wide open. You may just capture the 4 moons like a string of jewels in the pic!

Haha, that's the one I want.

But kenot afford or buy, so I'm relief-ed of the need to possess it.

mick - Jupiter (the planet), is the very brightest `star' you can see almost directly overhead (too bad for your neck) just before dawn these mornings. I did mention months (eons?) ago that Jupiter is rapidly coming into opposition (will be nearest to Earth for this year in October) so we will see it getting bigger and brighter every night from now on. Eventually we may even be able to `see' it in the daytime (if you know where to look, of course).

lady-o-leisure, the Perseids should be pretty good where you are. Seen anything yet? Don't forget to take some pics!

FT.. Noted, tks Will 'try' to be awake to watch it. The sky has been strangely cloudy the past few days, being some cold winds in what's supposed to be summer.

with the assistance from an apps in the ifon, managed to track down Jupiter this morning. although it's the brightest in the sky, with 200mm and cropped like few hundred times, it only looks like this
