bzjude, thanks for the kind words & offer of books for the Xchange program. I understand your sentiments about throwing away books.

We would love to have more books to give a wider selection option to those who comes by for the exchange. Frankly, it helps to have new titles to keep people interested to come for the BEP.

I saw your list and the books thereon can be considered rather recent. Or should I just donate them away? I love books and so have not have the heart to throw them away.

Someone brought some boxes of very old (like bought in 1960s) books once and they are mostly at my home library now, found lots of The Saint series etc, written in proper English and loaded with humour without too much 'spice'. These type of books hardly exist nowadays.

    Hi Fay,

A friend of a friend wants to donate some books. She's in USJ12. Can you send me an email address or something so I can put you two in contact together? Mine's ellenwhyte AT lepak.com

    Cheers,
    Ellen

Is the book exchange still going on in 2012? I'm looking for Enid Blyton children's books in reasonably good condition. I have adult books to offer in exchange e.g. Jeffrey Archer, recipe books, business books etc

    Hi Fledgeling
Yes, there usually are a few Enid Blyton books. What sort of age group are you looking at?

Hi lhct, my daughter is 5 years old. She is starting to read Enid Blyton books like 'Noddy', 5 Find Outers. I'm looking for series like 'The Faraway Tree', Famous 5 etc.

    When is the next exchange?

The next exchange should be the first Sunday of Feb. A notice will be posted in the forum by either Sulynx or mWong, confirming that the meet is on. In the meantime, you can check if the Enid Blyton titles we have (hopefully the list has been updated) are suitable for your daughter: http://www.shelfari.com/groups/63698/lists/read
Alternatively, I can keep an eye out for those titles you mentioned and set them aside for your collection at the following meet.

    Hi Patrick
Sorry, but this Sunday's book exchange meet is off as MPSJ has asked for the use of the community hall. mWong posted the reason on the other book exchange thread.

this thread is actually meant for us to list & update the books we have for forumers' info. Right now, the # of books is just too great/many for us to do that.

The other thread of the same name but without 'bk-list' behind it, is for discussions about the program & for us to inform about the date it will be held. Here's the link, http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/uploa...e-or-Loan-Club

Will explain more when I see you on 19/2.
