Thank God, she didnt run away with some boyfriends in Malaysia and leave the doors wide open like a maid near my restuarant last week.
On the other hand, she might or might not planned to get married. Or even if she did, I guess she might not know how to tell you guys the truth!
My Indo maid was sent back at my request but never come back because she said her husband would let her back. But if she choose to come back, I wouldnt mind taking her back.

It's better to be poor than to be rich. The rich always have to fear becoming poor, but the poor never have to fear becoming rich.

the horror (and the saddest ) of all horror maid tales was of a family living near my parents' place. their maid committed suicide by hanging herself on a tree at a park behind their house. very sad

But if anything happened to the maid, the agents are not responsibled. You are! It is akin of not reporting any stolen automobile. Mobile to be stolen and used it for crimes.
Now think of the hassle if the maid was caught for prostitution or end up dead!

The laws are all made out to protect the indon maid.

The employers are not allowed to hold their passports and when they run away, the employer have to pay rm 250 to govt ? And they run away with work not done but salary paid in advance ?

So the employers are always on the losing end.

I think it's time that somebody here recommend a good myanmar maid agency. Anybody knows of one ?

and make a report about this.

whole lot of bullsh!t, isn't it... fact is - maid employers are always getting the raw end of the deal... but the media always say that it is the maids that are abused and tortured.

yunno, come to think of it... why is it people think that only the maids are worked to the bone.... heck, NOT all that employ maids are earning 5-6 figure salaries... my colleague is a single mother/divorcee/convert - that SLOGS HARD to make enough to pay for her commitments and to pay for the maid's wages... she really has no choice but to leave her kids to the maid's care and everytime she goes to work, she prays really hard that her trust in the maid is not BETRAYED or that her kids would be safe while she is away on duty....

fact is.... the only people that really benefits from this maid issues are the freaking maid agencies and the middlemen that have vested interest...

worst part is, there is no tax exemption or rebates for situations like this...

So you saying... that my "single parent/divorcee/convert" colleague should live within her means and leave the kids alone while she goes to work (because her crap husband doesn't care enough to take care of the kids or pay for childcare while he is having fun with the new younger wife).... or she shud just quit her job and stay home and HOPE for help and charity... would appreciate some suggestions here...

ps: she has filed 5 appeals for child support [not alimony] but so far no action or decision has be taken by the religious court/dept.
