Mei Sek is deplorable when it comes to cleanliness. The drains surrounding it! The oily floor! Have a peep into the drain in front of the porridge stall and you'll see what I mean. Shocking! You want more? You got it! Some mornings the garbage truck will come a calling, slowly driving by and sometimes stopping momentarily in front of the restaurant to 'karliu'! The stench remains long after it's gone!! But the place is usually packed with hungry people happily eating away. The restaurant's fungshui must be good huh? You won't find me there anymore.

Set lunch at the Ship, DU. They have 3 different set lunches from RM15.90 to RM30.00 Mine was grilled lamb and it was terrible. My friend's minute steak was better.

I've been there once in the 90's but have not gone back. If I ever go back there, I'll make sure I avoid the grilled lamb. Thanks for the heads up.

I had a nice curry mee at the Subang Jaya Light Ind Park. The place is called The Factory and is opposite the Full Gospel Assembly Church. It is among the factories but the ground floor is a food court. Very unique. The curry mee tasted very good after adding one spoon of chilli otherwise, it is not so "keng." I put 2 spoons full into it. The chicken rice and siew yoke is not bad. Portion is big and generous. Worth joining the factory workers to eat there.

Is that chicken curry mee? If so, is the chicken cooked in the curry?

White boiled chicken ... not cooked curry chicken ... that is the ONLY DOWNSIDE compared to Choy Kee, I have already informed the stall owner to change his "chicken"

Oh! I don't like it all that much when they toss the haphazardly () cut slices of white boiled chicken into the bowl of curry mee. The curry gravy taste better when the chicken is cooked in it.

I am with currymee on this one. I prefer white boiled chicken because it tastes better. Most time, the chicken is boiled too long in the curry and it comes hard and chewy.

Another very good curry mee is at MC Restaurant in Taman Sri Muda, near Mydin. This MC Curry noodle is worth trying it out. Well known.

Me have sort of perfected "Nasi Tomato" recipe using choice ingredients including the best bhasmati rice. Done this a few times and last evening's cooking turned up to perfection. Credit goes to some word of mouth hints and tips from wifey's circle of good friends. Recalling back what I've bought and tasted outside, those are to the point of flat, bland and actually tasteless.
Along with my own home cooked Chicken kapitan dish, acar timun and Taj Mahal Poppadams...I hantam twice, lunch and dinner!.. MMmmmmmmm! Super! I will avoid to buy and eat anymore from outside.
    COOK AT HOME!.. BEST!

Brother, I beg to differ. Afraid I disagree with you and Currymee. The chicken taste better when cooked in curry gravy and I find the curry gravy has more flavor when the chicken's cooked in it. To each his own I guess.
