Smile My lunch today - share your "lunch"

    Dear All,

I will like to start a thread where interested readers can talk/comment and share info/reviews about what they have for LUNCH or plan to have for lunch TODAY (weekdays only - the compact 1-hour makan time called LUNCH)

After all, I am sure many of us would like a change every now and then from the usual 1-hour quick weekday lunch at the SAME COFFESHOP/SAME STALL/SAME TABLE (sometimes) and sharing reviews may help our fellow readers have a greater variety - ok, you get the drift, so enough talk from me

    Let me start:

Restaurant FATTY HO (USJ9/N) - Char Koay Teow

Today I had the fried char koay teow - RM4, the works, food is pretty tasty but make sure you ask for chilli or else may not be enough kick. I had the kopi-O-peng (my favourite) - quite good, nice body and smooth, although I must admit, tried it before, and sometimes TOO strong.

Ambience: surprisingly too quiet for my liking, very quiet, although not packed, most tables are occupied, maybe my timing sucks (makan around 1:30pm), cleanliness ok ... I have a warped sense of relationship between good food and cleanliness for coffeeshops (Sentinel can vouch for that). To me good food = dirty shop Clean shop = so-so food, coz nobody there, place is clean !!

Something like that kind of review.

Ha!!! For lunch today I went to High Key and had their roast chicken stew with vege on the side. I tell ya... Uncle Botak can really cook man... and the normal stewed pork in black sauce was almost gone and it was only 12.30pm. His char siew was all gone... One mat salleh from the nearby company was quite disappointed when he walked in at 12.40pm to find all the char siew finished. Then he took the roast chicken stew instead. Yum Yum.

    Siewdanny,
Where is the High Key? Street name if possible sounds like a char siew dish worth trying out.

Just had a good hot bowl of pork noddle with all the spare parts (not the 3-kam cheong type) at USJ4 Apollo - must ask for extra cut chilli padi, if you really want to savour the taste

Looks like you are confirmed as one of those people I said earlier who will continue to support an outlet that was marked as unhygienic by MPSJ? And you even told us you will find out the reason but rather the hot bowl of pork noodle took your mind away...

I thought I should not repeat myself but since you asked: The place was closed and told to tidy up as a response to Star Metro article - Casablanca down the road was also affected, so both places got to clean up, they cleaned up as instructed and was ready for MPSJ to come and remove the sealing tapes, which they said were late, so biz carry on, that day and declared clean and safe - and you are right, after that explanation, I focus on my pork noddle - tomorrow will be the LOH MEE's turn

BTW, MPSJ declaring a place unhygienic is TEMPORARY penalty not permanent, once you clean up and tidy up, off you go, business as usual - if they go around making closures permanent, there will be NO COFFESHOPS left in MPSJ juridstiction, SJ, USJ, Seri Kembangan, Serdang etc etc ....

It's located along Jalan TP2 in Taman Perindustrian UEP, near the Tallest (or Biggest) pencil in the world Faber Castell.
