    To get rid of termites

Hello there. We found termites at two different locations in the house. The first was found few months ago which preceded the elimination of an entire built-in cabinet. Today, mom found them in the kitchen too.

Mom asked me just now, "Do you have friends that catch termites?" I brushed her off at this, "Who catches termites!?!"

Anyway, do you know of any reliable pest control services in Subang Jaya to recommend?

I can always google for them but it's always better to get a recommendation.

    Thanks!

yvonne, more details are at http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/uploa...ead.php?t=7569

BTW, I'm using Master Pest Control, if you need their contact, do let me know, I could PM it to you.

Else, you could contact termibait who is in this forum as well. His contact would be available at the above link.

    Good Luck.

Termites love dampness and particularly damp houses.

Yvonne, sorry for coming in late. I can vouch for Termibait too. I used them for my house in USJ4 and their regular follow-up were good too.

Try to convince neighbors to have their places inspected too. As you are aware, USJ used to be UEP (United Estates Plantation) which was an old rubber estates and there were lots of termites when we first moved in 1993...

Baiting systems are the best but expensive

I subscribe to Antipest Management Services at USJ 1. My house in USJ 6 had a bad white ant infestation (as USJ was a former rubber estate) and one day when I pulled out a stuck kitchen drawer, hundreds of the pest poured out! The antipest people placed several stations containing a bait which the termite workers take back to their nest and feed the queen (the source of the white ants as she is a production factory). Within a few weeks all the infestations were gone. I actually did a favour for my neighbours as the main nest is a source of infestation to other houses. Downside of the system is that it is expensive. Cost me RM2500 3 years ago. Now I have yearly checks costing RM450 where they check 4 times a year. Don't do the soil injection method (which I did 10 years ago when I moved into my USJ house) as it is not effective in the long run as the chemical eventually wears off and you are contributing towards environmental pollution.

Sorry Yvonne for late posting before you got your system. I hope it is similar to mine. Baits are the most effective as it destroys the nest. Other methods just destroy pockets of infestation. Reinfestation can occur as other nests can contribute towards new attacks.

Suggest you try getting 3 quotes just to be safe - try NLC (local - long established), Ridpest or Rentokill (foreign - for state-of-the-art tech/methods ) and one cheap one - then compare services, technologies, prices etc etc - safer that way - must try to avoid cowboys and fly-by-night operators even though cheap !!

Thanks Termibait for the contribution. He deals with my mom. =)

Hey, the other advices are for FCLoh, am I right?

In my situation, by the time I compare and ponder on the many available options, the entire house will get chewed down already.

My family has been occupying this house for more than 23 years, meaning I've been living here since before I could remember.
