Err buddies...more often than not in the past...
Orchi n the neighbours would spot Policemen patrolling in Police cars or bikes...
    in the vicinity of USJ2...

Nowadays they don't patrol the neighbourhood streets anymore...

    or rather...
these days they would "drop by" often...
only after more regular reports of crime are filed...
    happening in Orchi's neighbourhood closeby...

True....very true of your observation ....
.....and in it's place now , replace with paid 'professional guards' riding on cubchai helmet-less to begin with , no-eye-see by the proponents of gng....
a sad reality of what it will lead to of this neighborhood...

    Err buddies...earlier this evening...
a group of residents(Pro GnG) dropped by...
to garner more support from fellow neighbours...

The effort of this group of residents is very much welcomed...
especially so when they are willing to listen n take certain suggestions...
    up for consideration...

Here are what Orchi gathers from one of the group members...
n some small suggestions from Orchi to the GnG community...

    1. The present Security firm was appointed on tender basis.(after the initial one was not doing a good job)

    2. The Security firm has not been checked on their backgrounds...
other than the claim that this appointed "Security firm is licensed..."

    3. NO personal identity details or records(NO photo IC) of the Guards...
were given to the resident GnG community group...for reference.

    4. NO records of the employed guards were referred to the Police...
to check whether any of the guards might have any criminal records...
    or something like that...

Security guards having Unpaid traffic offense is not included as criminal records...

Any guards found to have any criminal record...previous conviction...
or being prior suspect to theft/any malice(like cheating)...
    or robbery(pending due legal process)...
should NOT be allowed to work as "security" guards...

    5. "Security" guards on patrol on motorbikes are required to wear the crash helmet...as required by the law...

This has not been enforced yet.

    6. Security guards on duty should be armed with the basic baton(or Rotan)...
as a tool of self defense purpose...

Guards assigned with proper Whistle...Flash light...
Pepper spray would be an added advantage...

At present the Walkie-Talkie is fine.
    Cell phone is a must...

    7. Security guards on duty must be in proper attire(like with uniform n safety shoes)...
Reflective vest must be worn at all times...
    Guards have TO BE SEEN...
for traffic safety concern...or possibly act as a deterrent of criminal intent.

    8. The Security Firm n guards must be insured properly n adequately...
    with at the least...
    Public Liability insurance(PL)
or Comprehensive General Liability insurance(CGL) - CBT included.
    Personal accident insurance.

    9. Putting up CCTV is likely going to be NOT cost effective...
    or another joke...
    n definitely a waste of contributor's fund...

Having to pay for more security guards to do more frequent...
n closely knitted patrols(say 2 pax on each HOURLY or half hourly rounds)...
is a MUCH better alternative...worth considering.

    10. 90% thieves or robbers(outsiders)...are NOT prowling on foot.
The other 10% of thieves or robbers(live close to the victims' homes)...

So putting up the fencing with limited INITIAL funding is going to be a near impossible task or unpractical at these times...

    11. To obtain 85% consensus + monthly contribution from total 1800 household residents is near impossible at the present juncture...
as many residents still have no confidence on the capability of the Security Guards...n facilities.

To obtain 85% consensus only is possible.

    12. The Security Guards MUST wear their personal ID name tags...clearly.

    13. The contact nos. to the nearest Police...Emergency n Fire Departments...
MUST be clearly pasted on ALL guard posts...

    14. The Security firm + resident reps should have EXCELLENT rapport with the nearby Police...
    to do joint patrol...

    15. More proper speed retardant road bumps...should be set up...
    next to the Guard Posts...
(as vehicles slow down over the bumps...
the guards get more time to take down the registration nos.)

IF any good-for-nothing outsiders decide to do crime in USJ2...
but they see that the registration nos. of their vehicles are being taken down...
n recorded by the guards at the guard posts...

They would think 3 Times before committing crime in USJ2...GnG.

This would also serve to curb speeding vehicles in residential roads...too.

    2 birds with one stone...

    16. A poor fisherman set up small traps to catch fishes...in small stream.

With small harvest...the fisherman buys a small net...to catch better in bigger stream.

With better catch...the fisherman buys a bigger net...to catch even better...
    with his friends...in a river.

ONLY with better harvest...would the fisherman be able to buy a fishing trawler...to catch more fishes in broader sea...

    With small means...start small...

Err buddies...this suggestion is worth considering...

Suitable species of BAMBOO plants should be planted sparingly along the perimeters...
as opposed to planting the ugly looking n high maintenance steel wire-mesh fencing.

    1. Planting Suitable Bamboo plants should be encouraged by each households...
living along the perimeters of USJ2 GnG...

    2. Affordable...easy n fast growing Bamboo plants...
grown to good heights would serve as excellent wind breaker...

The current pine trees planted are useless...
the pine trees branches break too easily in rain storms...

    3. The hardy Bamboo plants beautify the community surroundings...
    n soothe the environment...

    4. The Bamboo plant is GOOD Feng-Shui...

    5. Better to start doing this as the 1st Community in USJ/SJ...
to have the Beautiful Bamboo plants planted as fencing...
    to beautify the surroundings...
before the other communities get wind of this suggestion...

    Few birds with one stone...

Err buddy...Ashes to Ashes...Dust to Dust...

You either incinerate your death or bury it...
In which case...you either live on trees(don't built your house on earth)...
or eat your food raw(don't use heat for cooking)...

The deceased is well dressed...like wearing a suit...
n put on a tie...to look handsome...for men that is.
In which case...you should consider not to wear any...

    Divider in USJ2 a nuisance

There are so many USJ2 GnG THreads, pretty confused which one to post to. Moderator, can you kindly copy this posting to all other USJ2 GnG threads ??
I am not for nor against USJ2 GnG as I don't live there.

But I am travelling in/out the roads there at least 4 times a day as my kids are schooling there.

Yesterday, a triangular-shaped divider was built right smack in the middle of the entry road from Jalan Tujuan to USJ2. Is this MPSJ approved ? May I ask the RA what purpose does this divider serve in terms of security of your GnG initiative ?

During peak period, ie after school hours and with those coming home from work in the evening, what used to be a flexible 2 lane going out from this road was reduced to one lane merged from 3 lanes of cars trying to squeeze out of USJ2 to Jalan Tujuan. And with the sharp angles from the dividers, it obstructs traffic more than anything else, and makes manouvering the corners with so little room very difficult.

Today, after a heavy downpour, the insides of the triangular shaped divider became storage of rainwater.

Please do whatever you wish to improve security but pls do not cause jam as a result. Do you have the right to build such a divider on public road ?

    Triangular Divider Revamped

Today, some workers were seen revamping the obviously ill-placed triangular divider that lasted 2 days.
For a while I thought some sense came down and had it removed. Instead, it was downgraded into a straight line divider, and of a lower height than the previous super-reinforced curb concrete.

So GnG has decided to also include roadworks in its portfolio. What's next ?

What we can do is to report this to our councilor Rajiv on this matter...
    http://www.usj.com.my/bulletin/uploa...ad.php?t=29552

Take a picture on the mentioned divider and report it...

The divider is build on public road... pretty sure it need approval not just from MPSJ, it need approval from JKR as well...

Exclamation Driver Attacked At Usj2 Petronas

Hello every1. I'm a resident in USJ2 . Just an hour ago, I was at Ehsan Restaurant having a drink with my cousin, an incident occurred in front of our eyes. A car driver arrived was fuelling up in Petronas. All of a sudden I was told by my cousin that two people were fighting . I saw a guy with helmet on & another man (car driver) fighting. I assumed that it was an argument between them, then I realized that he was being attacked & robbed. He was attacked by two of them and he ran towards & away from his vehicle heading towards the shop. One guy with helmet on chased him and at the other side of the station (near the exit/entrance) there were about 4 bikes waiting. All happen in spilt seconds, the attacker ran back towards his friends and all went off!! Why isn't there a security check 'pondok' at the entrance near both bus stops ! ! Even this shows the security guards/officers are NOT AWARE of suspicious vehicles & people. Isn't it odd that a group of bikes which hardly comes into USJ2 area all of a sudden at about 4.00am - 4.30am riding in ??? These security personnel’s are supposed to be having EAGLE EYES meaning knowing what's going on & who are to be categorized in the suspicious list. I'm a trained & qualified Private Security Officer ( with license) & I know what's the real deal once we're on duty & in our uniform. These kind of groups at this hours are supposed to be monitored. The check point officers should have aired on his walkie talkie to the patrol officer who is on duty at that zone or near that zone. Ordering him to keep an eye & monitor these bikers. This officers have all the rights to do so. It's their duty in the whole USJ2 area. I feel it's not safe at all. After returning back from Singapore as an Private Security Officer seeing this change whereby all this check points and guards around i felt safe. Especially for my mother who is staying alone at home. Although I've had a short period of experience as an Officer I've learnt many things to use it to maintain and keep the security of others & the respective area a safe place to be in. What if the driver was stabbed? What if students who study at SEGi college here living far away from family decide to walk to the shops at hours past midnight get attacked? Many matters are to be discussed & strategies to be bloomed to create a safer place & gaining the confidence of the residents of USJ2 . With or without the fencing ! ! It's not about the fence anymore. It's about the proper ways to tackle the coming dangers & being prepared.
I've decided to speak & meet those who are involved in the USJ2 security department soon.
Thank you & have a pleasant day.
