999 is just a number you call when you see robbers in action!
It's better to be poor than to be rich. The rich always have to fear becoming poor, but the poor never have to fear becoming rich.

Talking Ahyah 115354 (translate into Cantonese: yet yet um sum um sei)

People's obsession with numbers defy logic. Sometimes certain fortunate events happen by chance on a particular day and people attribute that number to good luck. In the Cantonese dialect it means something good but in another language it may mean something else. In my office block, the elevators do not have a 14th floor on any of the buttons but a 13A. Some houses in PJ, too, do not have the number 14 but a 13A too. To some "13" is associated with negative things. "666" is associated with the devil for Christians but some Chinese like the number because it is associated with three times the luck. But "6666" is a no no as it is associated with luck "sei". The meaning of "14" in the Cantonese dialect potents "death" in all aspects to the believer. Then, there was a Malay collegue of mine (a lady) who had her car number plate with the numbers "6767". She didn't know why people sniggered when they saw her number plate. Ask any Cantonese speaking person and he/she can translate for you! Ask any business man why the number plates "1199", "1169", "1166" and "888" are much sought after.

Good things are not influenced by numbers. YOU make good thing happen through your own effort and diligence - my Theravada Buddhist teachings.

Back when I lived on the hillside I lived in apt 434 and had no problems - then I moved to 254 and I had lots of problems....

but I noticed that no one lived in 444 ... and there were break-ins there ia few times.

Maybe they could get rental if it were apartment 3A3A3A?

    Cheers, m
