I have encountered numerous singapore malays in the course of my work and at no time do they give me the impression that they felt they have been marginalised in anyway by their government. I think the only people who thinks the singapore malays are marginalised by their government are our politicians and its non of their business anyway to interfere into another soverign country's affairs . The singapore malays seem so proud of their achievements for they have achieved it on their own without any assistance from the government and neither would they need any assistance . Their attitude seems to be like, no thanks but thanks anyway for the thought, we can do it by ourselves .

I met YB Nurul recently when she was back at her parents' house in Cerok Tok Kun, in Permatang Pauh, on the sideline of the recent Permatang Pasir by-election. She had just completed her confinement after delivering her second child - a baby boy - and she was still breastfeeding the first baby.

I asked her about the issues surrounding Rohaizad, the UMNO candidate for Permatang Pasir, who was a disbarred lawyer with tainted personal life. "YB, what is your take on this Rohaizad controversy?"

"You know that UMNO can actually win a moral battle here, a victory for themselves of sort. If they are magnanimous enough and withdraw this candidate and apologize to the electorate and say they have made an error, they do not support such tainted candidates, they would have won a huge victory, people's perception of UMNO would take a 180 degree turnaround... but they choose to flog a dead horse... what a pity".

It was unfortunate she had to excuse herself to breastfeed her kids otherwise I would have learnt a great deal more from this young talent... very incisive mind like her Dad... She even makes better cucur udang than her mum Dr Kak Wan Azizah...

Strange... my post in response to keny has been deleted without warning or reason

All I did was express my opinion she would not jump ship for money coz she has experienced the political persecution of her family since 16.

Strange this is deleted but more sensitive posts are not.

And a thread on the price increase of RON95 and RON97 which is a community and general interest thread was quickly shifted to "Motoring"... hey we were discussing about price increase and the 'justifications' lah and not as in types of fuel for motoring....

Sentinel, I think you answered your own question.

In any case please feel free to get a second opinion from KWChang, he could bring it back.
