The nation could wait for so many years of pending cases involving millions of public money, but MACC could not wait for the next morning when the late Teoh Beng Hock would have been fresher and better rested? What's the urgency that he had to be deprived of sleep and forcibly kept awake till 3.45am?

.... I've always wondered about this.....

.... in other countries, when an agency or govt body mucks up - the head of the agency or department would do the most honorable and decent thing and TAKE the FULL responsibility for the muck up.

.... NOT suprisingly in Malaysia, the head of the department/agency would instead BUAT TAK TAHU.... as if to snub you in the face.

There is NO ACCOUNTABILITY, TRANSPARENCY, RESPONSIBILITY whatsoever... and any hint of implementing any of these would send those freaking BN leaders into fits of anger and more denials...

Yet I don't those in the Govt... I blame the idiots that keep believing and VOTING these perps back into power...

In other countries, the Director is responsible for such news and they will even step down even though partially it's not his fault.

In Malaysia, police and macc were given so much time to create fairy tales .

FBI easily could have arrest these fellows and put them under house arrest as suspects. Here they were not even suspects but given privilege to go home and make phone calls to the accomplice if there's one.

Malaysia today had revealed one of the deadliest interrogation method which is to put the life of the victim on the edge of balcony to force out any information that could lead them to arrest more politician. A technique we often seen in TV and Dramas.

Bob, there is a fund set up to collect money to assist his fiance and the unborn baby as well as his parents. Do you have the bank account number which you can PM me? Or maybe publish it here? I will collect from firends and families here in Penang.

I will make some enquiries although I don't think there's one at the moment.

Also remember the other victims of death in custody. From 2003 to January 2009, 1,535 people died while in police custody (ref: Home Ministry's reply to parliamentary question). This figure doesn't include high profile victims like A. Kugan who's death at the time of the answer was still under investigation and hence not classified yet and A. Gnanapragasam who died in June 2009.

The well reported cases of police brutality such as the case of Adi Anwar Mansor continues to haunt the reputation of our enforcement agencies and contribute to the continuing distrust of the Malaysian public in the credibility of these agencies as well as a sliding confidence in public safety.

Since Beng Hock's death on July 16 2009, at least another victim has been found dead while in police custody - 31 year old R. Gunasegaran was collapsed in the Sentul Police Station on July 17 and was later pronounced dead in the KL General Hospital the same day (ref. to Bernama report).

Mainstream media reports have conveniently labelled the victim a "suspected drug addict". While this may be so, questions worth asking may be:

    • What follow up action has been done to resolve the stupefyingly numerous numbers of fellow human beings who died while in the custody of the police and other enforcement agencies?

    • Why are people assuming the worst everytime a death in custody case occurs? Is the real problem "presumption" or a "crisis of confidence" in the objectivity and professionalism of our law enforcement agencies?

    • How many members of the enforcement agencies have actually been thoroughly investigated, prosecuted and convicted (or proven innocent) under the law for these various cases of deaths in custody?

    • What kind of infrastructure is in place to ensure that abuse of power and misconduct by enforcement agencies do not occur and that perpetrators are actually caught and penalised under the law?
Until such nagging questions are actually answered satisfactorily, perhaps the representatives of the current Najib administration would do well to stop being so smug and refrain from tell the Malaysian people what to think and what not to think. The more you get defensive, the more guilty you look.

For the alleged amount of less than 1 million ringgit, the witness or suspect was made to jump from 14th floor by the MACC, the headquater need to be moved to KLCC because the recent DIsneyland and Bali mansion alleged amount of abused fund seems to low for the MACC to extract info.
