Anyone know where is the Jalan Ngee Heng Shop?

Back in the 80s, I use to frequent a coffee shop along Jalan Ngee Heng, JB, for my daily fixes of nasi lemak (in banana leaf type, MYR0.50 a packet, use to have 2 pkts) and ota-ota burned on the spot (20 sen each) and a huge bottle of home-boiled barley (MYR1.00). A normal breakfast would cost me RM3 (i.e. 2 pkts nasi lemak, 5 ota-ota and 1 bottle barley water).

I use to stop by over the years whenever I am in JB or passing by - for nolstalgia sake. My last visit was December. Last weekend I couldn't find the shop nor the building, where has it gone to?

Also, where has the Jaafar Mee Rebus (in Taman Sri Tebrau - opposite the church) shifted to?

AFAIK, the famous place for nasi lemak and otak otak fix is at Jalan Storey. Its been some years since last been there. My brother whos a JB resident for donkey decades intro this place to me whenever I'm in JB. He knows every nook and cranny, including the places you mentioned. He also took me once to a railway club mess where I was amazed at the best roti canai there. It reminds me of the roti canai at Yasmin Malay buffet at Ampang Park (long long ago). My brother is a fine and best food freako!.. Perhaps JB is like "bapak punya bandar".. seems to bump into someone he knows at familiar places, even the parking attendents. Amazing chap!

Why talk so much BS, ask him where the "clear soup type" Bak Kut Teh at Taman Seri Tebrau moved to? Quickly, quickly because I am driving down Friday...
