Kai See Fish Ball ipoh hor fun soup noodle

I am looking for a nice kai see yee yeen ipoh hor fun soup noodle in SJ/USJ but could not seem to find it. Sometimes they include prawns for this dish. They usually have "kow choy" vegetables. My favorite stall opposite Jasmine condo in PJ is gone too. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks.

can't help you with subang/usj...but if you happen to be in tmn tun..

there's one near the old IBM and it faces the wet market open carpark. same row with DBKL. very long queues..only lunch..
they have the noodles, prawn wantan, yau choy( boiled veg), pak cham chicken rice. they are apparently well known for the melt in the mouth chicken.

the one in parkway is good.. the have a whole shop at SS 14 facing the NPE highway.. the restaurant is called Kar Heong.

I have to differ on that Coleslaw. I have tried the one you recommended AND the one at Parkway SS19 mentioned by Birdy

My verdict is the one in Parkway. Mainly because the "famous" one in Taman Tun is too crowded and probably heavy on the MSG because right after a meal there, I would be going for water like crazy. Maybe that is why the Taman Tun one is so "tasty", know what I mean?

By the way, this is an Ipoh delicacy and surprisingly, I cannot find shops in Ipoh town selling this. I know where I can get one in Ipoh but it is not easily found if you did not get pointers from a local resident of Ipoh

Seems like it is also difficult to find around here. I mean you can get the wanton mee and fried kuey teow easily but this is rather elusive. The one at Kar Heong in SS14 is different. They are chicken rice seller and they have hor fun to go with it. It tastes nice but not the right type.

Soo Kee next to the SEA Park market in PJ is one of the best I have tried.They serve Ipoh Hor Fun with prawn wonton.Their chicken is super smooth. (Not to be confused with the other Soo Kee well known got their Beef hor fun)

I think I know this shop as well - it had been ages since I patronised them. Yes they are very good (if not the best) but I think they are famous for their fresh-prawn wontons. It is however, not the authentic Ipoh hor fun that this thread is about.

KW, I do not really want to split hairs with you but the soup hor fun that Soo Kee serves is for all intents and purpose the authentic Ipoh kai see hor fun that the thread starter, CS Chua was referring to.The soup taste authentic IMHO and all the garnishes are the same including shredded chicken and chives.The only difference is instead of prawns they give prawn wontons.
In the same vein the fish ball the CS Chua referred as part of the Ipoh Kai See hor fun is not, if my memory serves correctly the traditional garnish for this dish.

Fish balls seem optional. There are stalls that served with fish balls and there are some with it. I guess that is not important.

I got no idea where the Sea Park market is. I know where the cinema is though. Anyhow, I gotta take a drive there on Sunday to look for Soo Kee. While there I might as well buy some Seaview bak chang!!

I take my comments back then. Actually I never did buy the standard garnish set because I used to order the wantons and the Ipoh chicken (chicken rice equivalent).

CSChua, if you know where the former Ruby cinema was in SEA Park, this noodle shop is in the row of shops back-to-back with the shops that face the cinema. And by the way, if you are there, do check out the Sakura pork outlet - this is a cold-chain pork butcher outlet that has its own pig farms and their pork comes from residue-free pigs (ie no beta agonist for example). I have not been there actually ... a friend of mine told me about it.
