    Horrible public transportation !

    I can't believe the people at rapidkl never heard of backup power supply ?

    All this talk about improvement in public transport is just talk. Where did the savings in petrol money gone to as promised 3 years ago ?

    Imagine the economic time and money lost.

    LRT service breakdown is almost an every month affair....

    how to improve if the attitude of some parties never change. Previously with minibus around, there is no issue, then come in intrakota...and now rapidkl... but till today i do not see any improvement...

    for example..my area..U84 schedule for every 30 mins but at times wait till almost 2 hours, there is no sign of any bus..so i believe people rather drive than count on public transportation...

    They have been talking about the LRT extension routes for 3 years and they are still argung about it. Some even argue about 'money is not limitless when building a LRT on top of KTM' when I asked many times where the money saved during the petrol price hike went to.

    That's why most people prefer to use their cars and that's why the roads are horribly jam everyday.

    I wonder why it is that people just dont get it. Extending the LRT to Subang Jaya or Seri Setia or wherever you like is not going to fix the problems that we have with public transportation...and it certainly wont do anything to stop the incidents like the service disruption that happened yesterday.

    Ive said it again and again here and in other places that mega projects like LRT extensions are not the solution for our public transport nightmare. What happened yesterday just proves this.

    Whenever people push LRT as the only solution, they are just letting the government expand the size of this LRT money pit.

    How do you expect that the general public or myself would know about where the money has gone? That information is not available to people like us (the general public) and no one except TRANSIT is calling for more transparency in government spending on public transport.

    Is it not hilarious that Prasarana, the national infrastructure company 100% owned by the Finance Ministry, supposedly cannot find the RM5 billion for the LRT extensions? Or that the money collected in this unofficial petrol tax is not going to transportation? Do people even know about these things? Are you ready to fight for these things?

    Anyways, Im sure that people are angry and they have every right to be ... but it is time to turn anger into action. Aside from complaining here, complain directly to the following people:

    Angry Komuter to Seremban was down on Tues evening too!!

    I was in KL Sentral on Tues evening trying to board the Seremban-bound train to MidValley. The railway track was having technical problem too. It was at the beginning of peak hour about 5.45pm.

    The carriages were all packed to the brim, filled with human sardines! Sporadic announcements were made to inform passengers that repair work is undergoing but no assurance how long it would take. This announcements were clearly heard for those on the platform. But not those who are in the station, buying tickets.

    No one at the ticketing counter inform passengers who were buying tickets about this problem. No signage/indication was made.

    I decided to opt for other mode of transportation. As I exit, fortunately, I passed my ticket to a guy manning the exit. I went to the ticket counter and complaint to them that they should stop selling tickets if the train is not running and inform passengers so they have an option not to buy ticket and choose other mode of transport.

    The "acuh tak acuh" (don't care less) attitude of those at the ticket counter was unbearable. They said those passengers can listen to the announcements la! In the chaos of peak hour human traffic in KL Sentral, no one would be able to hear the announcement clearly, unless you are down at the platform!

    I demand for a refund of my RM1. Even though the sum was little, I refuse to let KTM made a cent from me due to their poor customer service! The ticketing girl demanded that I show my ticket. Fortunately I could go back to the guy manning the exit. Some people have inserted their tickets in the machine upon exit and thus cannot get their refund!! How come the guy manning the exit never inform them that! It's so frustrating to see the lack of initiative in KTM staffs to manage the situation well. They just "DON'T CARE"!!!

    How can our public transport be improved if they are manned by those who have this "Tidak Apa" attitude! Don't talk about having money to develop more tracks or routes, pls improve the quality of service first!

    Unfortunately, it's because of the monopoly and their iron bowl that they don't really care about customer service.

    I think in Singapore, they would be hired already.

    Our public transportation directly & indirectly involves 13 Govt Ministry/Depts/Agencies/Authorities.

    All these mentioned, demanded the authority but don't want the responsibility.

    Imagine, when u want to propose or amend a route or whatever, u need 13 'YES'. But when things go wrong, none of them would admit they deserve some level of blame.

    The gahmen have failed miserably in public transport woes past 2 decades...PERIOD! Another age old woe of the urban rakyat.

    I say generally, its all been too protective, restrictive on administration, implementation all along since decades ago and it hampers productive progress when and where it should happen. Its doesn't instead. Curb too much and you know what happens and who are the loosers at the end of the day. They've FAILED...period! Look at the current stimulus, I don't think anyone really knows whats going on.
