On the contrary, there's really A LOT can be easily accessed and I've seen more than many can imagine. There's even a search engine which leads to a goldmine of it all. Of course most of it is in compressed format and many won't complain. Yes, I do download some but make it a point to buy the album should I like to own it later on.
For example, I found the whole soundtrack album of Jackie Chan's movie The Myth and made it a point to buy the original. It was really hard to find as it was out of print and many local shops didn't have it. I finally got hold of perhaps the last copy at Popular Bookstore and I breathed a great sigh having found it at last. Another was Bee Gees Living Eyes CD which I only acquired through Ebay at a fair price. That cd is now very rare as it was not re-issued in great numbers on CD.

Chewie, do you also know how to load songs into my iPod and delete those I do not want anymore? I am not looking for free downloads, am just trying to find out where and how.
The last time when I first got my iPod (I have 3 - one for the house, one for my driving and one for my bike...) I have an intern in my office who was an undergraduate from a local college and she downloaded the songs for me based on the list I gave her. She is no more aorund lah... I don't even know how she did it...

Actually people, thanks for the comments. I have weird requirements, by normal standards.
I love classical music but only at a certain tempo. That's because I play along with it with my string/woodwind instrument/s, something like karaoke for instruments. That particular tempo must not be too fast nor too slow.
Once in Europe I bought a DVD for BACH orchestra arrangement. I think it was like 30 Euros or so. But when I got it home, it was just too damned fast that I just couldn't follow it at all.
Another day I bought a CD just because it has Pachelbel's Canon in D but it was just too dreadfully slow and I have a big problem with it. I can't explain why cuz not many people would understand the techniques behind a particular instrument.

Now isn't this piece by Tarrega wonderful? I just love the tremolo effect! Reminds me of my younger years playing this and other pieces such as Romance d'amor. Actually the tremolo (many notes played repeatedly to represent one continuous note) not too difficult but its the finger shifting along the fretted board that kills me. Mainly cuz its painful.
However I have to give this beautiful instrument up since my playing fingers on both hands developed thickskinitis (donno what else to call it) and thus am not able to feel the violin/viola strings. Its either the guitar or violin. Common problem among string players.

I used to have John Williams's (not to be confused for the other John Williams of the Star Wars theme music fame) beautiful rendition of Antonio Vivaldi's "Il Quattro Stagioni" (The Four Seasons) in cassette (think it was by Sony) but now is lost.

As answered by Chewie,you need to install iTunes (Google for it or get it from Apple site).
Now, there is the danger - if I am not wrong, you need to check your settings for the iTunes - because usually, if you do not have the same music in your PC, the first time you "sync" the Ipod with the iTunes, it will assume that since you do not have the music in your PC, it will synchronize both the PC library (which have no music, it being newly installed) and your Ipod (which is loaded with music) - the end result is the possibility that you get all yr Ipod music removed ... to be in sync with your PC
If it is set right, I believe it will copy the music to your PC to maintain the same data.
Using iTunes, you are able to copy music from yr CD collections to the Ipod. It is not exactly intuitive and you do need to find the right buttons to click to allow you to download music from your CD. By the way, we in Malaysia are not allowed to buy music from iTunes (you need to identify yourself and you can't pretend that you are now in the US).
If anyone needs to discuss Ipods, I suggest we start a new thread elsewhere - this is not the channel for Ipods. If you give me some time, I will split out the Ipod parts to a new thread later. You agree, Sentinel?

I have iTunes installed but I cannot download because it says Malaysia and Singapore not licenced to download, how?
Yah, lets start iPod thread elsewhere.
p.s. I am eager to download some 'riding' music for my iPod as my new bike has iPod connection so can play 'riding' music while on the cruisin' on the hiway, man....
