Help me raise funds and kill a tumor behind the eye

Hello there. I haven't been browsing this forum for quite awhile, focusing on other commitments. So please excuse me for writing this all of a sudden.

I am raising funds for Gamma Knife Radiosurgery to kill a tumor attached to my right optic nerve. This is my remaining eyesight that must be saved. I was born with an underdeveloped left eye. And tumors had already taken away both my hearing nerves.

As you know, I raised funds for the Auditory Brainstem Implant in 2006 and the members of this forum contributed. Sounds are electrically stimulated and I can hear all sounds, but speech discrimination will take a lifetime to train before I can use this implant to understand speech. Therefore, I rely on my eyesight a great deal. It helps me study in college and live independently.

    The discounted cost is RM94,000.00.
We managed to raise RM36,000.00+ as of today.

This treatment is to be done in March 2009, at Good Samaritan Hospital, and by doctors I know and trust.

You can read more details at my website here: http://www.yvonnefoong.com/donate/

There are a few ways you can contribute.

    3. Write cheques to my trustees.

    4. Donate by PayPal.

My paypal e-mail address is yvonnefmn(at)gmail(dot)com

    5. Get the Heart4Hope Ambigram Caps and Tees.

My cause is named Heart4Hope and these products are sold to raise funds for my medical treatments. Please see more of them here: http://www.yvonnefoong.com/online-store

    ...............................

I would like to apologize if this message offends you. I also hope you'd spare me a minute and consider supporting too.

This tumor will blind the eye if left untreated.

    Thank you.

HTCHONG, thank you so much! It's okay, you don't have to tell me your account number because I can't track that.

I don't know whether I should say this.

But tumors are not 100% curable by western medicine.

You should look at traditional eastern medicine (like qi kung etc) and find out what's the cause of it.

Eg. There are research that link meat eating with colon cancer. Even if you cut out one tumor but you continue eating meat, the tumor will grow back.

Anyway, best of health to you. May you find the cause of your troubles.

Very true. But people find it very hard to give up their meat eating habits, which greatly contributes to more than just colon cancer. A vegetarian diet goes a long way in maintaining a healthy body.

Thanks for your concern. I am a 90^ vegetarian. My mom is a full-time vegetarian. Eases bowel movements.

My illness is a genetic disorder on chromosome 22. We are finding a means to replace the tumor suppressor gene called Merlin. All individuals have this gene, but the ones in patients are mutated.

Besides treating each tumor specifically, I am also participating in a clinical trial involving bee propolis. The product is called BIO30. It uses the CAPE content in bee propolis to try and substitute the function of Merlin in our cells.

So besides taking care of immediate treatment needs, I am also working towards the ultimate cure.

Sentinel... this is one example why I get upset to see millions & millions wasted on STUPID blardy 'pet' projects and nonsenses... while people like Yvonne has to seek help on her own to raise funds... or go blind
Yvonne's blog ... please read the last few lines and you'll understand what I mean...

Hell.... How many forummers do we have here... 10? 50? 100? The USJ population stands at 100,000 plus... yet is there no one willing to stand up and help this poor girl raise money to stop her from going blind. !!

Can we like organise something for her .... 100 pledges of RM100* would get her RM10,000 ... *thats roughly of 12 packets of cigarettes or 2 quarts of Baskin Robbins... imagine if we get just 500 people... what about USJRA day... can it be done/organised there for her......

What say "US" ??? I'd be damned if there's silence after this post !!

just a thought.....next sunday usjra fair..
maybe usjra could assist by highlighting yvonne's plight and..
could a collection boxes be placed at stratergic spots for donations..
a few dollars from each guest could add up to quite a bit.
