Usually those people who jump aeroplane are those who can't make a decent living in Malaysia.
Whether the number will increase or decrease depend on how well the government boost the economy. Who wants to go overseas and live in fear of immigration when they can work in Malaysia ?
The last time I was in UK, I saw a few malaysians selling VCD near chinatown in makeshift stalls.
It is sad that most employers employ foreigners rather than locals forcing a lot of locals to find a living overseas.
We must put ourselves in their shoes.

I doubt the reason these people go overseas is because they can't find a job here.. its more of , they can earn more working overseas.. as simple as that. I've heard of cases where these people work a few years overseas and come back with enough cash to buy house and car...

Do you think it is so easy to earn money overseas selling vcd or washing dishes in chinese restaurants ?
Morever, some of them have to pay exorbitant apartment rental and high cost of living. You really have to save every penny. Furthermore, the food in most western countries cannot compare to malaysian food.
If we have a good job in malaysia, why do we need to suffer overseas ?
However, I don't doubt that a few are more successful but these are the minority rather than the majority.

SOKONG! the foreign workers, legal or otherwise, in bolehland also work with low pay and under questionable conditions BUT it is non-debatable that able to earn rm600/mth is better than almost nuthin' in their own homeland.It is only as a last resort that people will consider doing the "tupai jump" off the plane. Whether their life is much better after that is quite debatable.
Ditto with the Boleh-aeroplane-tupai-jumpers in the kwai-loh cties & japn/taiwan/hkong...but some do come back with enough to start a better life.

i personally know some people who have spent some years overseas. they're back now, staying in nice houses and driving pretty cars.
It's better to be poor than to be rich. The rich always have to fear becoming poor, but the poor never have to fear becoming rich.
