Is this Legal? Its fun though....

From tonite, I am setting up a table for 15 kids, only for 3 days.

I have a piece of canvas / cloth of 6 different animals - a butterfly, a centipede, a crab, a prawn, a dragonfly and a Chinese water container. I also have 2 dices having the same animals.

Bets are limited to 20 sen per bet... good uncle yah! All these nephews and nieces and cousins all gonna go home crying by the time Uncle is done with them....

hahahahahaha! Good one here, Sentinel! KEONG HEE! KEONG HEE!

Last nite, I have 2 bankers niece+nephew, teaching the even younger ones how to bet on a new card game! It was hilarious to see Bankers explaining the intricacies of a card game esp. with money/bets involved! its risk management training at its peak! And entrepreneurship at early age!

To make it legal, do not use cash for bets. Use toothpicks / matchsticks / chips etc. At the end of the session, just tally up your toothpicks and covert to cash.

Of course I know its not legal but what the heck, its just a simple game among family... anyway, to get into my house, the cops need to climb a 6-foot fence and pass 2 German Shepherds... by that time, the board game would be flipped over and stashed away safely....and the kids all quietly watching Cartoon Network.

Ha! Ha! Bugbear. One of my nephew (about 2 yrs old) is a strange fella lah. He likes the picture of the Centipede so much that he betted all his RM4 angpow throughout the night (10 sen per bet) just only on the Centipede. Unfortunately, the dice didn't turn up the Centipede that often and he lost his entire RM4 personal fortune... Of course, he was sulking and this Uncle The Banker had to give him back his lost fortune of RM4....

Thats not the end lah... he started betting again at 10 sen a bet on the Centipede again....

I am not sure what to make of him.... a very determined fella or just plain stubborn. I hope its determination....

Today, all the other siblings (nephews and nieces) all call him Yakang (or centipede in Hokkien)!

Ha ha sentinel. Seriously, don't you think it is too early to introduce gambling habit to the young fellow? The other thing is to never return his money to him once he has lost it and by this you are telling him that gambling is a losing past time. If each time he lose, and get back his money again just by sulking, then he has not learn from his lesson in gambling and that by betting single minded on the centipede all night is not a good odd at all.

You remind me of the casino operating in the istana compound in K.Kangsar in the early 70's . It was meant to be part of a celebration for the sultan's birthday then and it lasted 30 to 45days yearly , together with other entertainment thrown in .
Hehehe....I've not seen one resembling that after this present sultan takes to the throne. Have fun lar .....Koeng he koeng he....

Kiong Hi, Kiong Hi, to you and family too.

My set is a bit worn out now. I bought it in a backstreet vendor in Shanghai sometime back when I was posted there and do not see myself going there for a while. Do you (or anyone else in this forum, for that matter) know where I can pick up a good set (especially the dice) here in Malaysia? Someone told me Petaling Street but have not seen it there before...

A shop specializing in making and selling mahjong sets would have this, I suppose, anyone know of a big mahjong maker in town?

There's one off Jalan Tun Razak, near the Pekeliling bus station . I think it's called Toh's Plastic Mahjong. I bought my set there more than 10 years ago.
