    K1 form from Custom

I need some advice. What is this K1 form from Custom all about.

I bought a new car and is a CKD model. Since Monday, my car cannot be register as Custom system with JPJ is down thus this K1 form cannot be produce so that my car can get registered. This K1 form is for confirmation of that the excise duty is being paid. This is what my car sales agent told me. Is this true??

Furthermore, if isa CKD unit, doesn't it that the duty need to be paid first before the car can be reassemble here.

I do not understand this. Can someone in here explain it to me.

You must be buying a imported car. K1 form is for declaration of imported goods into Malaysia.

i dun think so..is a Hyundai Accent. Is a CKD model. As per the sales agent, the duty is not being paid. After the duty is being paid, the K1 form will be out then only the car can be register. And the car is at the showroom now...

Pardon me for being busy body. I am just curious that isn't this is the car dealer's job to make sure the import duty (or paperwork) is clear before they sell to you.

The way I look at this matter is just like you are importing the car by yourself and hence you got to clear the import paperwork. May be the agent should do the running, right?

You are right. I am just thinking that since the car is not yet register due to documentation issue then why not change another car of the same model (and same color). Unless the dealer has only one car in his stock. Can that be done ? Unless the problem mentioned can be rectified easily.
