So difficult to renew road tax at post office

Renewing road tax is just that difficult! My car's road tax expired last week ( u can say last year as well), the insurance done but just have to try your luck at the post office in renewing the road tax.

Went there last Friday, noticed the sign - 'Harap Maaf JPJ offline'

Went again yesterday took the queue number with 100+ people ahead of me...waited for abt an hour & again the sign - `Harap Maaf JPJ offline' was put up at around 4pm

Went again today - same scenario like yesterday

Still dont know when my road tax is able to be renewed. They talk about first class this & that, this boleh that boleh...to me it's just BS

Hmmm...thats funny...I thought one could renew the roadtax, eventhough the system was offline, as long as you have your papers including renewed insurance....

Hi Ditto - I faced the same difficulty as yours since last Friday.

However, I was at Subang Jaya Post Office yesterday at 5.30pm. Collected the que ticket & have to wait for another 50+ people on que.
But at about 5.50pm, the clerk at the counter announced that the cut-off time for JPJ transaction was at 6pm & requested us to que up physically - and quickly I dashed to the counter & managed to renew my roadtax & claimed the $625 rebate immediately ( all this would be possible if there is no Off Line issue )

Suggest that you visit the PO at SJ ( the one next to the Taylors College ) @ SS15. The timing & a bit of luck is crucial in this case though .....

Sad, very sad to hear this kind of problems the rakyat are forced to tolerate year in year out. Its already a chore for every vehicle owner and more so we've to use our wits to get things done in the nick of time or most conveniently. We're all being milked with various taxation policies, yet the quality of services to the rakyat can be still thought of as inefficient and loads more to be desired. We're well into the 21st century and 51 years after independence you know?

many car owners like to register their car on 2 or 3 Jan.
that posted heavy load to JPJ network and Post office will normally declare offline if the response from JPJ is too slow (not totally off)...
means you may try to ask the counter, if the officer ok, he/she can actually try to do the transaction for you...

waited in Shah Alam main for 2+ hours on Monday for my car road tax too...
they declared off line even though my transaction still running on the counter...
