    Looking into the 2009 crystal ball..Orchi sees ALL forumers being Well n Healthy...

    Err...here's wishing EVERYONE in Usj.com.my...
    yes including those folks that MAY not like
    Orchi's rantings...too.

    A Very Happy New Year to All. Whilst we celebrate and enjoy our Blessings for 2009, let us spare a thought and a prayer for those less fortunate, and for the many who may have lost or may lose their jobs this year. And also spare a thought and a prayer for our departed Tuan Foo, who is one of the best police officers I have worked with. Take my word, he cared very much for the folks who live and work within his area of jurisdiction. I will really miss him in 2009.

    On the subject of the late Tuan Foo, my condolences to his family and may he rest in peace.

    I'm just looking at the "white gold" donations for an officer who has given his life preventing and fighting crime in the USJ area, I am a bit taken back, less than 10 odd people donated. I have not met Tuan Foo since I moved out from USJ4 in 2005, but can the people of USJ do more for his family?

    I must quickly add that there are also many USJ residents who plan to attend the wake with their "white gold" donations.

    Don't worry, I have come to learn that Subang Jaya residents are made of much better stuff, even more so in 2009.

    Reality will hit us in 2009
    When the West have no money to buy goods
    When petroleum prices fall
    We have a surplus of palm oil
    Everything will add up and it does not look good
    Because Malaysia is dependant on petroleum, palm oil and manufactured goods

    However, amidst the gloomy outlook
    Let us be Thankful for our Blessings no matter how big or small
    For we are Blessed
    We still have ...
    • a good and cheap public health system
    • free education in public schools
    • cheaper petrol
    • warm weather


    You may say things can be better ... and i do not disagree
    But i choose to say my glass is half-full
    rather than half-empty
    Like the Chinese say ... if the horse collapses, we get down and walk
    and i am ever so thankful that i can WALK

    Let us pray that we will get through 2009 unscathed

    I think 2009 will be the year that sees which man can get down from the horse and walk.... I don't like your prediction but sadly I have to agree to most of what you wrote. Its scary but I don't think its too far from the truth.... The 1,500 people retrenched from Western Digital plant in Kuching is only the tip of the iceberg. The HR people I talk to here in Bayan Lepas.... oh boy, its going to be a very painful March 2009... exactlt 80 years after the 1929 great depression....

    yup...we have 3 vacancies for floor level staff...and get this:

    nearly 60+ people applied for the jobs..and this is only from word of mouth! No need to advertise! Save $$$$$
