Anyone play Wii Music Wii Drum? Need your opinion

Hi, I'm taking a simple drum lesson, but I don't own a drum set to practice. Teacher advice me to just find any thing can make a sound to hit for practicing. I am hitting bowl, dishes and kicking plastic tong for practice now. Lately I found out that Nintendo Wii actually have a new game called Wii Music and in it got a virtual drum set, which can be use to practive my druming (better sound and since I already own a Wii console), all I need to invest is a RM350 Wii Fit (a fitting game come with the Wii Balance Board, that required by Wii Music for virtual druming) and the Wii Music sofware.

I wonder if anyone in this forum ever play this Wii Music Virtual drum before to give me some review and opinon about it.

wii music drum is nothing close to the actual drumming

in wii music, you just need to waggle the wiimote to play the instrument by controlling the beat n pitch only.

actual drumming you need the actual direction and which drum to play, Wii music does not.

    hi greyshadow,

i think he was referring to the new wii rockband drum, not wagging the wiimote. pls see the image below

also some search from google http://images.google.com.my/images?q...=1&sa=N&tab=wi

or maybe he was really referring to wagging the wiimote?

    burn,
check out the new drum set for wii

Naah...the rockband type is not my choice, simply because it is design for gaming rather than playing real music, the position of drum is not following the real drum set. I actually bought the Wii Balance Board to play the virtual drum set in Wii Music and I am satisfy with it. I feel like playing the real thing. Since it didn't limit me where to hit, I can really following the correct drum set position to hit, it make my drum practicing fun and practical. The only downside is the kick bass work abit different, which I must leave my heel touching the board to "step" on the bass drum, but not "kicking" it.

hehe your you think that by playing a video game it will make you into a real musician more power to you

Just because it mimics a drum kit it does not make you another lars ulrich but hey who am i to say these things .. i dont' play wii and i dont play the drum but i do know that years of playing racing car games has not made me into a great driver on the road ...

Just when I was considering the Wii console...!! How do you find the Wii? Have you played PS2 or PS3? How does the Wii compare to the PS? Your comments appreciated.

I start playing console game since....(black and white tv), until PS1, PS2 and then Wii and stop there. After playing Wii, I already forget where I store my PS2 console and won't consider buying PS3 (unless one day I really into watching Blu-ray movies).

BTW, to answer EricK, I actually taking real drum lesson at real music school and I found it practical to use Wii virtual drum for my practicing.

    Post reason ?

Get the wii drum if you just want to have plain good silly fun. get the real thing if you're serious about learning to play the drum and music. it entirely depends on your priorities actually, what your intention are.
