since we can't talk about politics and we're bored sick of all the food talk and complaints about everything under the sun...i thot sthing about msian cinema would do nicely. i'm happy you're not disappointed.

this is a very clever move by the producers of the movie. that controversial scene will not be passed by the censorship board (you can sit on my head if they do!) for general screening but the producers of the movie may sneakily include an easter egg of that scene in the DVD! brilliant move!

Give them about a week (yes, it takes that long... ). Once the reality sinks in, we'll hear from them.

Err buddies...in Malaysian cinemas...often seen would be the movie
    ratings of U...PG-13...18-PA...18-PL...18-SG...18-SX...determined
by Lembaga Penapisan Filem for locally as well as for foreign produced
    movies...or films.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motion_...ystem#Malaysia

In fact...that would make Malaysia special in having perhaps
the most nos. of movie rating categories as compared with all n over
    200 countries in this world...

Approved films are classified as follows:

    * U (Umum, literally General Audiences) - For general audiences.

Since 2008 a new category which mirrors the US PG-13 rating was introduced as a subset of the General Audiences rating. The rating advises parents to view the flim with their pre-teen children and is known as PG-13.

    * PG-13 - Parental guidance suggested for children under 13. This rating was first introduced in Quantum of Solace.

    * 18SG (Seram, Ganas, literally Graphic Violence and Horror/Terror) - Under 18 requires accompanying adult. Film may contain strong violence, gore or horror/terror people may find objectionable.

    * 18SX (Seks, literally Sexual Content) - Under 18 requires accompanying adult. Film may contain sex scenes, nudity or sexual dialogues/references people may find objectionable.

    * 18PA (Politik, Agama, literally Strong Religious or Political Elements) - Under 18 requires accompanying adult. Film may contain elements which include religious, social or political aspects people may find objectionable.

    * 18PL (Pelbagai, literally Variety) - Under 18 requires accompanying adult. Film may contain strong violence, gore, horror/terror, sex scenes, nudity, sexual dialogues/references, religious, social or political aspects people may find objectionable.

Note: Any film that contains profanity or drug use will be passed with a U rating in Malaysia.

So from the various sorts of movie ratings stated above...Orchi thinks the Movie "Histeria" should be classified with MORE than ONE movie rating...

    1. PG-13...because teens above the age of 13 needs to watch the movie
in the presence of their parents...

    2. 18-SX...because the movie may contain sexual TALKS...

    3. 18-PA...because the movie may contain social elements that Malaysians
may object to..."Homosexuality" or something like that...

    4. 18-PL...ALL OF THE ABOVE...because there is a kissing scene between 2
teens...n perhaps another scene showing teens holding hands or showing
    affections for one another...

    MALAYSIA BOLEH...mah...

seriously, how many local producers can expect to make a killing from the big screens? if an when i come out with a production, its gonna be big screens for publicity and personally produced "illegal, pirated stuff", and obviously uncensored, dvds for the mega bucks.
