A much better car than Viva. Why you want to spend 40k buy a 1.0L 'new version' Kancil? Savvy is tough, good handling, Malaysia Record most fuel efficient car, AMT that is advance in terms of technology but the one on Savvy is the 1st generation so it's not so refined. Nonetheless it has low drivetrain looses which means the stereotype 'Auto car eats more fuel' doesn't tenable in this case, and you can enjoy the practicality of everyday driving with the D mode, which operate clutch & gears automatically.

Ah!..whatever it is, blame the gahmen you voted who corner and limit choice for the rakyat to buying the national brand car (speaking about new car) and its futile fussying about getting the best at lowest price. If it just happens your new car is a lemon, its just too bad and surely a peril.
    Malaysia Boleh for everyone here!.

I wish these cars were fitted with auto-cruise feature. Since electronics is often on the cheap, its not rocket science either, manufacturers should have this as standard..how I wish!.

If you can wait, why not buy a car next year ?
At the turn of the year, the car will depreciate more than the RM5K you get for the trade-in.

had a savvy AMT but sold it to my cousin.

as mentioned by others, it's a nice car to drive. good handling, doesn't wallow like a myvi or viva. fuel consumption is lower than myvi, but that's just my personal comparison.

the only thing is that the savvy is underpowered if you're going up a steep hill. oh and normal maintenance isn't that expensive, but the spare parts are

Thats one reason Proton still cannot state the Proton is MALAYSIAN CAR!. more of National branding (co-erced unto you me and 25million rakyat) likely.
Much of the car engine components are still made somewhere and imported, thus not much control over the prices. Anyway..automobile items ain't cheap in Malaysia and the gahmen DOES nearly NOTHING for the rakyat!.
