    Cockroaches!!!

Is it just me, or is this the season where the critters come out and play?

Two weeks ago I walked into the kitchen at night and bumped into 2 of them... sprayed them like crazy... then some hours later, another one appeared... followed by another in the bedroom above. Killed FOUR of them in one night!

Then just now I walked into the bathroom... and there were 2 on the ceiling. Sprayed like crazy, then walked up to the room and as I'd almost expected... another flew into the room!

What's happening lar... are they breeding like crazy in the drains outside? I stay in USJ17 and we keep the house -very- clean, no garbage dump, no leftovers, no nothing. Just wondering if anyone else are having the same problems, and what did you guys do about it?

Employ a pest control company to spray insecticide inside and around the house bi monthly. THEY are licensed to obtain and apply the chemical which is far more effective than your Baygon or whatever. It works and a great preventive measure. I can't think of any better solution. Don't waste your money on spray cans, the problem doesn't end as much as you expect it to.
Those roaches can wreak havoc in your cupboard, wardrobe, and kitchen cabinets and cause health problems. Don't be penny wise pound foolish.

i can take anything but a cockroach!!

I will even finish half a can of spray trying to kill one...i hate them..especially those flying ones.

reminded me of a time many years back when i was small. my dad parked his car under a cocunut tree in ss 17 subang. when we got into the car, there were so many cockroaches inside...yucks....imagine flying ones sumo.

That experience haunts me until today!

I'm sorry but I'm sometimes amazed at your opinion and views when it more about paying a fee for pest control company services as a preventive measure. Only God knows how much I've personally tried and wasted money containing the roach problem in past homes, but since resorting to pest control company from Day 1 in my current home, I've never had a problem with roaches. These roaches spring up from the septic tank through your outlets and from drains. The chemical is carefully sprayed at all sides of the wall and it dries up in a couple of hours at most. No danger to kids or occupants. Just ensure when spraying, its not to be prior to rain or all is lost.
I can bet with you that if your home is full of roaches, the day its sprayed, the next morning you'd find dead roaches after they crawl out.
The ball is in your court..its your home...up to you all lah!

You guys should take a walk at night at the lorong behind your houses... you'll be surprised.

The last time I did night watch I saw a whole colony of cockroaches ..because when some people watch their dinner left overs (grains of rice etc.). It could be flushed away thus stays in the drains...and it provides foooood.

The cockroach have survived millions of years and one of the most hardy insects the world have known. You murder them with chemical spray. I'll say NOTHING you can do for long term measure on your own..trust me on this. Every hotel and well managed building will employ pest control company to do the job. They could have easily armed their cleaners and offices with some spray can..but that'll be really stupid.

You mean talcum powder that you use on your body ah? How does that work? You mean to say roaches hate the smell?

err..mike, deprive the croaches of food, they will keep away from ur hse. DO NOT throw or wash left over food into the drain, that is the main source of food for them.
can't do much with those flying into ur hse.
